Awesome update & thanks for the PM 😊

Khushi's monologue gave me a ride through her inner thoughts & it gave a clear picture of the quandary she was in.

Loved the part where Khushi thinks that all she knew was that Arnav was trying to protect her amidst all the mayhem going on & inspite of her not uttering anything beyond " YOU WERE MY ENEMY"

The way Khushi put forth all the happenings in front of her & brought it down to justifying Arnav's deeds of not letting her go as to Arnav not able to cause her more pain which would tear her into two was framed so delicately in a beautiful manner. Khushi comparing her present situation with a fable she came across long back seemed apt since it reminded me, as a reader that Khushi is a character who knows less compared to the others, hasn't watched films or read much about the outer world....

Khushi's confidence in answering her dad's questions & staying firm in her answer reflects the extent to which Arnav's love has moulded strength within the childlike woman.....reading about positive growth in a character like Khushi because of love instead of blind love was really appreciative 👏

Suraj's words indicated that there is a bitter past in which he had been a monster.... It makes me wonder if Arnav's sole reason of vengeance on Suraj has anything to do with the punishment inflicted on Beeje's daughter by Suraj.....oooh!!! suspense is killing me...

The quote at the end spoke about the essence of the story in volumes by itself.... this was simply superb

Waiting to know about the past & how Arnav fits into it, how Arnav gets to know about Khushi's endless & fearless love for him, how & what he'll do to save his angel from Suraj's trap and the surprises you have got in store for us as the writer

Quoted the lines that were strikingly awesome :

  • I knew I was irrevocably and irreversibly in love with that man.
  • No law, no matter how big it maybe, no truth, no matter how bitter it may be, nothing was capable of altering that fact now.
  • If I had never met you, I wouldn't have liked you. If I didn't like you, I wouldn't have loved you. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't miss you. But I did, I do, and I will.
  • Yes my enemy was hiding me from something and was ready to sacrifice his life for me. He was ready to put himself in front of me in case of any danger.
  • But no matter how ugly his deeds were, I would never be able to bear something where life of a man who brought me into this world, would be taken by another man, whom I loved most in this world.
  • Then do you want to marry that bodyguard? He spat in anger.
  • How could I marry him? Even that is not possible.

"No, I don't want to marry him but I won't marry anyone else.

  • But he didn't know that Love works in miracles every day: such as weakening the strong, and strengthening the weak.
  • "If I had to endure death and pain, I am more than willing to take it as a gift rather to live a life in luxury where I have everything but him."

"I am torn between the two things. My love for him and my family and I can't choose anyone of them. I won't go against my love neither I would go against my family." She said resolutely without any fear.

  • "I want to kill you right now but I think since you are not afraid of the death, the best punishment for you would be to get married to another person and your condition would be a lesson for the girls of this family, not to fall in love."
  • Love is a sweet tyranny, because the lover endured his torments willingly

Part 38

"Khushi, please beta. Don't go against your dad. Do as he is telling you." Beeje tried to put some sense into her.

"I love him," She told her in a trance.

"I have lost my daughter and now I can't lose you. Please Khushi," Beeje pleaded, knowing that she would never understand because she had seen same rebellion in her that she witnessed in her daughter too.

"No one will understand you. They will simply kill you." Beeje hugged her tightly.

"They wouldn't understand," She muttered slowly.

"Yes, they would never understand. But I don't feel the need to explain, simply because I know in my heart how real it is.

Yes, they won't understand because when I think of him, I can't help smiling, knowing that he has completed me somehow.

I love him, not just for now, but for always. Completed me somehow." beeje gasped at her words and looked at her in shock.

"Were you alone with him?" beeje asked her and she nodded her head in yes.

"Did you sleep in the same room?" beeje asked gripping her tightly and she nodded her head. Beeje closed her eyes in pain for a moment.

"It is my mistake. You were innocent and he just played with you. I should have told you everything. But I had to hide it because I feared that if you fall in love, Suraj will kill you because he never gave a second thought before killing his own sister." Beeje started crying and Khushi came to know that her dad was not merely threatening her; he had indeed murdered his own sister.

"He took advantage of you,"

"No, he loves me. He never took advantage of me. He was with me in the same room, but he never crossed his limits, knowing that I don't know anything. He did tell me everything but he never crossed his limits." She confessed and beeje couldn't believe that a man could exist in today's world, who would leave her, without taking advantage of her. But she knew that Khushi's eyes were only reflecting the truth

He loves you, just like you love him. But I wish that only love was sufficient to change the fate. Beeje thought as she caressed her cheek where Suraj had slapped her.

She woke up next morning in beeje's room. Beeje was too scared and couldn't leave her alone at night, fearing that Suraj might change his mind and kill her.

I will not let the same thing happen with her. Beeje promised herself numerous times.

I am unable to forgive myself even after so many years. I should have stood by my daughter. But I will stand by Khushi. She vowed to herself before leaving the room.

Khushi was sure of one thing that she won't support him against her own dad. She knew she was not capable of doing that, but she was also sure of one thing that she won't marry another guy. She won't let anyone else touch her other than him.

****

She woke up next morning to find herself alone in beeje's room

She went up to the mirror to see her reflection. But she knew she was not complete without him.

Her eyes fell on the bite mark on her neck. She placed her finger on the mark and then rubbed it lightly.

The last night was still fresh in her memory. The way he had touched her and then the way she had asked him if it was painful. But she never felt the pain when he had given those marks.

How can his love be painful? She thought as she felt hollow inside, without him, around her.

She dragged herself out of the room but she was astonished to see the arrangements being made for her wedding.

She looked at beeje with the pleading eyes and beeje dipped her head. Door of the hall opened and Arnav entered the room followed by yash and Meera.

"Arnav,"

Even though he was here, she couldn't quite process it. She squeezed her eyes shut, before opening them again.

He is here. She thought as he reached her.

"Please leave," She scanned around, making sure that Suraj or his men were not around.

"Arnav, please go," She begged him

"Never, not until, I talk to you alone."

Khushi looked around and then her eyes strode towards beeje.

Beeje left from there silently, giving them a chance to talk. Arnav took her to the nearby room and closed the door.

"Khushi, I know it was hard for you to understand everything yesterday. I couldn't see you in the pain, so I let you go at that moment. But please don't put both of us in pain, by marrying someone else. Please," Arnav pleaded as soon as the door was closed behind her.

But she had no answer for him.

"I wouldn't have said a single word, if I had known that your happiness is also involved with this wedding. But I know, it will only give you immense pain and I can't simply stand there and watch you go with someone else. Please try to understand."

"I don't understand anything Arnav." Her voice choked and Arnav could feel that she was in too much pain right now. He took her face in his palms and asked her politely.

"What's your heart telling you to do? Just forget about the reasons and reality and rationality. Just forget everything else."

She didn't reply. He kissed her forehead and then her eyes shutting them in process.

"What's your heart telling you to do?" He asked a in grave voice.

"I don't know." She stuttered a little.

"Maybe, you're trying too hard to hear it." He whispered in her ear.

Her eyes were still closed and she slowly clutched the edge of his jacket and unintentionally pulled him closer.

He bent down his head and took her lips into his. He didn't deepen the kiss initially; his tongue played along the seam of her lips then plunged inside, teasing her lips and firing the hunger within her. She clung to him, meeting his own thrust with her own, and her nails biting into his back as he drove himself harder against her.

He left her abruptly, but she tried to pull him closer.

"Can you hear what your heart is trying to tell you now?" He questioned her

"You can't live without me. You just have to say it once and then no person can take you away from me. Please Khushi, just say it,"

"Yes, my heart wants you. Yes, I want you. Yes, my entire being wants you but it no longer matters what I want."

"I matters to me." He told her as he walked towards the door.

He paused when he reached the door and without turning back he told her.

"It is at moments like these that I know my purpose is in life. I am here to love you, to hold you in my arms, to protect you. I am here to learn from you and to receive your love in return. I am here because there is no other place to be.

I will not let you marry someone else. I know you won't be able to go through that pain. I know it very well. And even it is not in my control to stand there and watch you marry someone else.
