OK, Firstly I know m pretty late in making this post, but better late than Never.š
Basically, I am in awe of the song Iktara being portrayed on Sharon. The lines of the song typically fit the situation.
Traditionally iktara has been the instrument of saints and sages.. they used to spread wisdom while playing iktara..
so 'gunja sa hai koi iktara' would figuratively mean 'wisdom is being revealed to me'. In literal sense it means an iktara has echoed, and it could be replaced with her heart which is echoing various thoughts.
Sharon is going through a very complicated phase in her life. Her heart yearns for Swayam, and unlike as shown till now, she knows what she wants, that is Swayam.
But her mind is refusing to accept the fact, only coz she is reminded of the promise she made to Swayam, to keep dancing forever. It is Dance that binds SwaRon, it is coz of dance that their story practically started, and Dance took it forward. So Sharon's confusion, though not correct, is well justified. She has always been a complex person, who handles herslef well. This time, the situation itself is complex.
The lines "sun rahi hoon sudhbudh kho ke koi main kahani..
poori kahani hai kya kise hai pata..
main toh kisiki ho ke yeh bhi na jaani..
rut hai yeh do pal ki ya rahegi sada..
kise hai pata.. kise hai pata.."
Depict her situation quite well. She knows that she is in love with Swayam, yet is unsure of whether they will end up being together or not. By repeating the lines "we were not meant to be" to herself again, she seems to be reminding herself, that she needs to keep her emotions under check.
Also not to forget, her first Love, Dance. She is confused whether she will ever be able to Dance again or not. The whole build up to the situation may or may not be logical, but when she thinks stuff like whether she will continue to be a part of the dance team or not, shows how much dance means to her. It again reminded me that it is Dance that binds her to her Dil and Dosti.
The road which she has taken, is very lonely. It is a dark road, one which she may have never imagines she would have to take up, especially after the episode where she told Swayam how important he was to her, and how much she liked him. She herself doesn't know what the outcome of her decision will be. Thus the lines "kaise main chaloon.. dekh na sakoon
anjaane raaste.."
Oh and when the lines "jo barsein sapne boond boond..
nainon ko moond moond.." were picturised with her walking around, I myself could feel the pain and shed a few tears. Her Dreams were shattered in a flash of a second and turned her entire life upside down.
I hope I have not bugged you all by blabbering away. I absolutely love this song, and now I love it even more, and thought of sharing what I felt about this whole situation with you guys.š³
