Why is Sridevi getting the royal ignore?

I am actually SHOCKED and disappointed with Bollywood ignoring Sridevi's performane in English Vinglish, I really and honestly thought that she would sweep all of the awards!

Sridevi was never media-friendly in her life. She doesn't do PR. Her film wasn't backed by a Johar or Chopra. So no awards.

The Kapoors (Anil/Sridevi) have mostly been ignored by awards and rarely got due from media. Anil has started getting a bit of recognition after Slumdog Millionaire. Bollywood media had even questioned Anil's National award for Pukaar.

Likes of Kajol and Madhuri get awards for just appearing in a film. Whereas a Sridevi is ignored. Even at Hello Hall of Fame awards it seemed laughable how MD got some icon award (for what?!) whereas Sridevi was just given a performer of the year award (though she's senior & has a more diverse body of work in Indian cinema)!

Media has even underplayed success of EV (you'd have seen specials on Indian news channels if it were a Madhuri film) awards are out of question.

I thought sridevi got an award

There were other strong performances in 2012. Its not fair to give awards sentimentally especially when there are many good performances.

I am actually feeling bad for her coz she made a comeback with a good movie and she acted wel too and they are ignoring her:( She deserved the award other actress getting:(
