Borna, you have no idea the smile you put on my face when I saw your PM about your review. Another stunning review, my friend. 😃Aww, I can't begin to express how happy I was when I saw this comment of yours! 🤗 Thank you so much, my dear Jac! That means a lot, coming from you! 😳So beautifully expressed, Borna. For me, Aarti's willingness to lay bare her vulnerability to Yash reveals how much she truly does trust him. During her silences about the divorce lie, there was a question, even in my mind, about how much she trusts him. I've always maintained that she trusts him. She trusts him with her life, her heart, her soul. She just didn't trust him to understand why she felt so helpless. But, after his blow-up over the reveal and the rude exposure of the truth by her Ex and his Taiji, Yash admits he understands now how helpless she felt. I think that one reassurance from him completely broke down her last wall of anxiety. Still, she's dealing with guilt over being the trigger for their family's separation. Like you mentioned, a lot of her insecurity may stem from her childhood as an orphan (which the EPs may eventually explore a little later). Having someone who understands her and can articulate what she feels before she says it allows her to feel safe enough to be real with him. Love them.Word, word, word to all of this! The "why" in that first part in bold was the crucial thing for Aarti - and Yash's initial inability to understand that (in contrast to him now understanding how she felt, as you said) probably reflects a lot of the general public viewers' perceptions about Aarti during that difficult phase. I'm not going to delve deeper into it because if Yash understands her now, I'm not going to fret. The second part in bold: Exactly! It is fascinating to see how their interactions have progressed from silent curiosity and understanding to more and more verbal expressions of the understanding that is being built upon and strengthened every day. They may not know everything about each other, but what they do know is enough to make them feel secure in their relationship now...And every new discovery or revelation about each other has a slight thrill associated with it, along with that reassurance. It is captivating to see, as a viewer, how this transparency is being developed...*sigh* Am I making any sense? So true! As shallow as it may sound, I'm honestly just so glad they used Gurmeet's hands for the close-ups of this. It was such a powerful reassurance that needed no words. No need to worry! That may sound shallow to some, but I know I was thinking the same thing when I watched that scene multiple times! The most crucial moments had close-ups of Gurmeet's hands, and even though I was lamenting Gurmeet's absence in the close-ups where Aarti snuggles closer to their joined hands, I was very happy that they had that shot of his hand covering both of theirs at the end. Just like the moment when Aarti slips her hand into Yash's, it was beautiful and powerful! One of my favorite parts of the scene. 🤣 So funny and such a relatable moment. The sort of half-amused/half-embarrassed look Yash and Aarti shared when Ansh was saying he didn't know how he fell of the bed because Yash was sleeping next to him made me laugh so much. Such organic visual exchange. Then Yash is like, "Uh, I roll around a lot when I sleep." Just tell the kid you wanted to say "good night" to his Momma. 😆Haha, it was so much fun watching them! If Ansh had been more awake, and if Yash had confessed to wanting to say "good night" to Aartiji, I wonder if Yash would've gotten his kissie-tax right then and there 😆 since this is one of the first throwback loops that was opened - Palak-Payal and then Ansh bringing up the issue of kisses between Papa and Mumma...But nope, the tax is increasing, and how!Your vivid description of the bathroom scene, especially the above three paragraphs! 🤢 The progressive intensity of this scene was so fantastic, starting with coy flirtation and ending with them being absolutely lost in each other. Like you mentioned, there was quiet disappointment that their moment was interrupted. But, it seems as if they retuned to their reality rather gently. In fact, even though Aarti reminded him about getting rice, I thought she left with such a softness in her voice and expression, it was almost as if they were signaling to each other that they'll finish what they started soon enough. Gurmeet and Kratika are indeed killing us softly. They're creating havoc with my feelings, I tell you. 😳Thank you for appreciating my attempt to describe that scene! Well, if those words killed you...I know the impact of the actual scene was a thousand-fold more! 😳 And you just summed up the trajectory of the scene in a single sentence! 👏 What was the need for me to write so much about it? 😆@bold: Ah, yes. Coded conversation? Very much so...And I really like what you said about "finishing what they started" since that's one of the thoughts that crossed my mind as well. It could be interpreted in a few ways, and I feel like I need to visit that scene again to see what I think of it now!Your last two sentences...Ever since we started our discussions about their depth and range of chemistry, I haven't been able to get that phrase of yours out of my head because it is just so perfectly succinct and effectively describes the beautiful collective unit that is "Gurmeet and Kratika" when they come together in front of the camera.Once again, thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response! You know how much I love reading them, I hope! 😳
Kirthi, I'm very humbled by your kind words. My long-windedness usually gets me in trouble, but when I read such delicious insightful posts from you, Borna, and others, I get carried away sometimes. 😳
Word, word, word to all of this!
So true, Borna! Really good point about how Yash may have mirrored the general viewers' perceptions of Aarti during that time. As much as I understood and sympathized with her dilemma, some viewers understandably couldn't relate to the way she allowed herself to be submerged by her fears. There is a point in the New Year's episode where I realized Yash believed her. Before the red pallu fell on her. He believer her explanation of why the lie started, the Ex complication, why the Ex was no longer a romantic or emotional option for her, and how wrapped up her heart is with him alone. He believed her, but I'm not sure he truly understood the emotional weight she bore. I may be wrong, but it wasn't until the Ex and Taiji's intrusion, and the Dubeys' simultaneous bolstering of Aarti's defense the following day that he seemed to finally understand her in this situation. He understood the woman she is (and it was a call back to what he told Shobha on KC). It seems he loves her even more for it, and it must have been such a relief for her.
The second part in bold: Exactly! It is fascinating to see how their interactions have progressed from silent curiosity and understanding to more and more verbal expressions of the understanding that is being built upon and strengthened every day. Makes complete sense. IA, it truly has been wonderful to watch their understanding deepen over the course of the 8-9 months they've been married. As you rightly said, they may not know everything about each other and probably never will know everything, but they're slowly building their emotional intimacy to a point where the really do feel safer about who they are with each other. We're seeing it not just in the quieter and sadder moments, but also in their confident defense of each other and in their playful exploration of the physical side to their relationship. Really well handled by the Mittals and I think they're just getting started. 😃

Exactly how I felt. On the bolded part, that part of the scene still makes my heart flutter.
Haha, it was so much fun watching them! 🤣 Totally. IA, if the kids came to his rescue, I'm pretty sure Yash would have gotten his kissie tax already. Then again, knowing how clever Aarti can be at times, she'd find a way to make him wait to collect. 😆 And it is increasing indeed! I hope Yash gets his due in delightful increments. No lump sums please, Aartiji! ☺️
Thank you for appreciating my attempt to describe that scene! Well, if those words killed you...I know the impact of the actual scene was a thousand-fold more! And you just summed up the trajectory of the scene in a single sentence! What was the need for me to write so much about it?
Their interplay in that scene is one of my favoites. Your vivid descriptions are fantastic, Borna. You help me to relive these scene with such brilliance. Don't ever think of cutting your details shorter.
@bold: Ah, yes. Coded conversation? Very much so...And I really like what you said about "finishing what they started" since that's one of the thoughts that crossed my mind as well. It could be interpreted in a few ways, and I feel like I need to visit that scene again to see what I think of it now!
Agreed! Their reactions there could be interpreted in different ways and that's the beauty of it. All of my favorite pairs have been given coded conversation by theirs writers, and I love that Yash and Aarti have that element to their interaction too. It's a great payoff when subtext eventually becomes text in word, action or body language. It really is interesting how multiple viewings layer our understanding. OK, you're inspiring me to rewatch the scene again too, lol.
Your last two sentences...Ever since we started our discussions about their depth and range of chemistry, I haven't been able to get that phrase of yours out of my head because it is just so perfectly succinct and effectively describes the beautiful collective unit that is "Gurmeet and Kratika" when they come together in front of the camera.
What are these two doing to our senses and sanity, Borna? The depth and range we've been discussing continues to impress me with each new episode. So good. We're so fortunate to have their acting partnership on PV.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response! You know how much I love reading them, I hope!
Aw! No thanks needed. The feeling is mutual. Your reviews always put a smile on my face! 🤗
Jeez,Borna. That was beautiful. Your vivid descriptions of the episodes always make me go and watch the episode again. And I have lost count of the number of times I have gone ahaaan, I missed this! which is funny because I am usually so observant of every expression on Kratika and Gurmeet's face as well as their body language. LOL
Aww, thank you so much! 😳
@bold: 😆 That really surprised me, Kirthi! Perhaps this detail-writing is not a complete waste of time...🤔 But even I can't put everything into words, so it's good that my "I loved this moment...and this one...and this one..." posts encourage yet another viewing of some of the episodes! 😛I loved that bit you wrote about the bedroom scene. It was so beautiful yet so powerful in what Yash did for Aarti in that moment. His words of reassurance and most importantly accepting her the way she is will always be imprinted in her heart.Yes! And that is why I love that moment so much...He always had this habit of observing her closely and internalizing those observations - and now that acceptance is coming to the fore both nonverbally and verbally more and more each day.Another one of my all time favorite scene would be the bold Aarti pushing Yash back and Yash's expressions were priceless. I truly thought Yash was turned on. 😆Same here, same here...From what I could see, he definitely was...He couldn't take his eyes off her! And the way he was looking at her...@Jac, Ufff loved reading your response. You really need to write more my friend. 😃Agree with that wholeheartedly! And on that note...I'm off to respond to Jac! 😃
I come back after a long holiday and what a pleasant sight to read your fabulous take .. yash-aarti hv definitely specialised in bathroom scenes aaj kal 😆😳.. whether its the almost kiss in bathroom or the whole tax paying thing of Yash , both hv been simply adorable 😳😳..
