Rains cast dark clouds over TV shows

Here's how the heavy downpour washed out all shows yesterday

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Star Plus)
Where was the shoot: Shantiniketan at Goregaon
Who was shooting: Most of the cast of Kyunki including Smriti Z Iraani (Tulsi) and Sudha Shivpuri (Ba)
The rain effect: The shoot was cancelled due to waterlogging. The studio was half submerged in water and the actors soon fled the location. Smriti Iraani, who in spite of viral fever attended the shoot, was stuck in a heavy traffic jam for over two hours. "I am stuck in this traffic jam for more than an hour. Ba's (Sudha Shivpuri) car broke down and she's with me. I don't know what is going to happen and how I will manage to reach home."

Kahiin To Hoga (Star Plus)
Where was the shoot:
Tantra, in Andheri
Who was shooting: The cast of Kahiin To Hoga
The rain effect: The shoot was cancelled when 15 electrical sockets caught fire and the actors were immediately vacated. Many actors were stranded since they had no clue how to reach home. Some of the cast members of the show stay at Goregaon and beyond.

Kareena Kareena (Zee)
Where was the shoot: Gemini Studios
Who was shooting: Kulraj Randhawa with the cast
The rain effect: Kulraj Randhawa (Kareena Kareena of Zee) may have been stranded all night at the studio. "We are scheduled to shoot at Gemini, and there is no electricity. The shoot has been called off. There is waist-deep water and I have no idea what I am going to do. I'll probably spend the night here."

Among the shows for which shooting were cancelled are Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Kesar, Kkusum and Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai.

When contacted to ask how she planned to deal with the sudden deluge, Ekta Kapoor said, "All the shows had to be cancelled. There is too much of tension, nobody knows what's happening. Now, instead of two episodes I have to complete four. If the rains completely stop, then we will complete the cancelled shoots through the night. The rains can't stop us, we have to provide entertainment for the whole country. We are Balaji!"

Sandip Sickand, the creative head of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, suffered a huge loss when a wall collapsed on his car and smashed it to pieces. "I walked from Andheri Shoppers' Stop to Bandra in waist-deep water. My car which was parked next to Shoppers' Stop turned into pulp when the adjacent wall collapsed and fell on it."
