Chapter Four - The Visit

"Come in!"

I watched the door as the person listened to RK's command. It opened slightly.

My eyes widened as I saw who it was.

"MA?!"

I ran towards my mother and into her arms.

I felt at home in her arms. I heard her giggle and that sent a happy feeling through me.

Then she pulled me away to stare at me.

"You said you were going to come visit!"

I stared at her as I remembered promising to visit her after I left the hospital. I put on a sorry look as her gaze turned towards RK.

"And you! Why didn't you bring her home?!"

RK stared at my mother and then smirked.

"Sorry ma!"

That was the first time I'd heard him call her ma and not sasuma.

I saw a smile lit up on her face as it did mine.

We both stared at RK with slightly stunned yet happy expressions.

I giggled as his expression turned to confusion.

"What are you both staring at? Oh, did I forget this?"

He placed his fingers to his ears and apologized once again as my mother smiled and shook her head.

I watched as she walked towards RK.

He bent to take her blessings for the first time.

I couldn't help but let a huge smile cross my face.

Then they hugged.

They hugged!

I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

"Ouch!"

Both their eyes turned to face me as I rubbed at my arm.

I looked at them and smiled sheepishly.

"I thought I was dreaming."

RK chuckled along with my mother.

Ma turned to face RK and she began talking to him.

"Beta...I just wanted to thank you..."

"No, what? There's no reason to thank me sasuma!"

"Chup, you don't interrupt elders!"

I walked towards them. I placed my head upon ma's shoulder and then listened to her continue as I stared at RK.

"If you didn't enter my daughter's life...I probably would've lost her. I know why she fought. She fought for you. She survived for you. She made it through this because of you RK. You helped her survive. I have every reason to thank you."

I slowly faced my mother as tears formed in my eyes. I glanced towards RK and saw him staring at me with a loving look. Then he spoke to ma as he stared at me.

"Don't thank me. Please. All this happened because I love her...and she loves me."

I watched his smile cross his face, which took my breath away. Then he continued as he looked back towards ma.

"And we'd like to have a real, full marriage."

My eyes widened as I realized what RK just mentioned. I attempted to gesture towards him with my eyes, but it was too late. My mom caught on.

"Full marriage? Didn't you already..."

"Ma! He means..."

"Oh! I meant that Madhu and I want to get married with family present."

Phewf!

He managed to save us that time.

"Oh, that'd be wonderful RK, Madhu."

"Yeah ma! Where's papa by the way?"

"Oh, he was busy with some background shooting."

"Bring papa next time!"

"Well, now that I just received good news, next time will be at yours and RK's wedding! Understand?"

RK and I stared at each other. I felt blush filling my cheeks as I lowered my eyelids to the ground.

But I didn't want to start a relationship based on lies.

It's time we should tell ma and papa the truth about the beginning of our relationship, I remember thinking to myself as I blushed away.
