Chapter 64
Vicky let go of my leg now. I can't feel my leg anymore. Aren't you tired?
"no. Not until you say yes."
Maan sat on his bed looking at him with anger. It has been the whole day since Vicky has been attached to him like a freaking ghost. He won't let go for anything. Maan tried everything even offer him chocolate, toys, his favorite games but nothing made him let go of his foot. He was so freaking stubborn. Maan holds on to his leg and finally manages to take his hold off his leg, he felt blood rush down to his leg. It felt good. Maan stood up holding Vicky in the air while he kicked and screamed.
"Stop screaming. I will go deaf."
"No. Not until you say yes."
That damn dialouge again. He has been saying the same thign all day and Maan knew it by heart now. Nothing else comes out of his mouth as if those words are the only thing he knows how to say. Damn it." He says to himself. Maan lets go of Vicky on the bed to take a cold shower, before he could even move he felt small hands wrap around his neck almost chocking him.
"Vicky, let go" (he says in a raspy voice)
"No. Not..."
"Until I say yes." (Maan completed the sentence for him) "I know you say that all the time. Okay, how about I make a deal. Why don't you tell me what the ceremony is all about. Why is it important for the father to go. Then I will say yes. Fair enough?" (Maan smirks knowing he won't have any answer for him) "That way, I will learn something. I don't know anything when it comes to this"
Vicky lets go of him and looks at him with puppy dog eyes.
"That look doesn't work on me you know that. Now, (he sits on the chair typical msk style looking at Vicky) "Am waiting continue on"
Vicky looks at him with a smile. "Naming ceremony is a ceremony where people gather and celebrate welcoming the new baby"
"hmm go on."
"We also umm name the baby"
"But we already named the baby, Anamika. So what is the purpose of this ceremony then?" (Maan asks trying to confuse him)
"yeah, you are right." (Maan wanted to laugh out loud after seeing how his little plan is working) "I didn't think of that before"
"See and you were bugging me for no reason. Now, since you bothered me all day and caused me to not do my work at the office. You won't get this..." (He pulls out a new game that he had bought for him. Vicky looks at it shocked and happiness. He goes toward Maan to grab it but Maan was faster) "Nope. You are not getting this anymore."
"Please. Please. I want it"
"No. This is your punishment."
"Fine. I will tell Di to tell you to give me the game."
"Vicky. Don't bring her into this"
"She will support me and I will make sure she yells at you, too" (He runs out of there. Maan runs after him to stop. He stops at the bottom of the stairs huffing and puffing.
"I need to go to the gym" (He says to himself) "Can't believe a little boy outran me. No one should know about this." (He straightens himself up looking around before going to the kitchen to get a glass of water.)
Vicky ran to Geet's room who was playing with Anamika. He sat on the bed holding her little arms smiling at him. He smiles when Anamika starts to giggle as Vicky makes funny faces. Geet watches all of this in amaze. She slowly gets up, trying not to put too much pressure on her wounded leg. The nurse, who has been employed to stay by Geet's side 24/7 until she could walk helps her to go the bathroom.
"So tell me about your mission, Vicky?" (She asks as she changes Anamika into fresh clothes)
"Di sometimes nah you can be such a buddu." (She makes a O expression hearing him talk like that.)
"Me and buddu? Why do you say that?"
"How can we have naming ceremony when we already named the baby Anamika? Bhai was right. Now, I won't get the toy he got me." (He sits on the bed with his arms crossed angry)
"Vicky, the naming ceremony is to give blessings to the baby. We had to name the baby so that her name can be added to the birth certificate."
"oh but bhai is not agreeing at all."
"Hmm its okay. I knew he was not going to come."
"Geet can I speak with you?" (Both look toward the door to see Dadima standing there.) "Vicky, beta why don't you play with Anamika in your room. Nurse. Please keep an eye on both"
"sure ma'am" (The nurse picks up Anamika as Vicky guides them toward his room)
"Beta I have to talk to you about Maan" (Geet looks at her surprised) "We are going to have many relatives here and I think it would be best if Maan comes to the ceremony. I don't want anyone to say anything bad about our reputation. So, with that said, I want to ask for your permission. Is it okay if I invite him? I know you went through a lot because of him and I only want your say in this. If you don't want than am okay with it as well. I don't mind."
"Dadima, you don't need my permission for anything. I know whatever you think or do will be not bad. I trust your decisions."
"Thanks beta but still I can't go ahead and invite him if you are going to be uncomfortable. Maybe he has changed maybe he hasn't only time will tell. I don't want to put your or Anamika in danger because of something I made you do. I still regret the decision of making you stay here hoping Maan would change but not anymore. I can't loose you both because of my selfishness"
"Dadima, you don't have to regret anything. Whatever happened, happened We cannot change our destiny or the past. I am glad that I got to meet a wonderful person like you. As for Maan is concerned, I don't mind if he comes to the ceremony. He is, after all, the father. Regardless of whatever he did in the past with me, I know he won't hurt Anamika. Before she was born, he made sure I was comfortable and even after I saw how much he cares for her"
"Okay beta. If you are okay with it than I will invite him." (She gets up to leave and looks at her foot) "by the way, who had bandaged your foot when you had injured it? I know nurse was not here and all the servants were asleep by then."
Geet looks here and there fumbling with her words. She coudln't say Maan knowing how Dadima doesn't like him or trusts him. She would get worried knowing he came in the house at night. She would blame him for her injury.
"woh uhh"
"its okay. Why don't you rest for a little bit. Your father has a surprise for you later on." (She winks before leaving)
Maan worked out in the gym trying to forget everything. Many things played in his head. He needed to think of a plan to be far away from Geet, if that was possible at all. But since he said that he is going away he can't back out of his work. It will kill him to be far away from her and his baby but he has no choice. For their happiness, he will do anything.
He sat on the floor panting when someone handed him a towel. He grabs the towel looking up to see his grandmother. He gets up composing himself and turning his back towards her as he wiped his sweat away.
"I have come to talk to you"
"I know. You wouldn't come to see me or ask about how I am doing. Anyway, Dadima proceed to what you have to say."
"Maan." (she says with pain) "That is not true. Even if we don't talk your servants give me your updates daily."
"That makes me feel better." (he throws the towel on the floor)
"Anyway, I have come to talk to you about naming ceremony. I would like you to come and be part of it."
"Why?" (He faces her) "You had told me to stay away from her, remember? Now, am doing what you said, you want me to come?"
"I know very well, what I said and what I didn't say but don't forget you are a father now. It is important for the father and the mother to be present during the ceremony."
"ohh is that why you used Vicky to annoy me and convince me to come?"
"What? No, I haven't"
"I have important meeting that day. I don't think I can come"
"A meeting is more important than your daughter? Think about it once more. I will leave the invitation in the living room. Please, come. Its my humble request to you"
She looks at him one more time before leaving. Maan looks at the situation that his Dadima presented him with. Damn it. What am I suppose to do now? No matter how much I try something always pulls me toward Geet. Can I really break my promise and show her my face? What if it causes her pain? What if I do something that she will regret? I can't trust myself let alone trust anyone else.
"Why does Maan think that I have something to do with Vicky annoying him? I have to find out who sent Vicky. I know that boy won't do anything unless someone tells him too. But who? I will ask Vicky myself. I know he won't lie to me."
She knocks on Vicky's door and saw her playing with Anamika. She motions nurse to leave giving them privacy. Dadima brings Vicky to her lap smiling at him lovingly.
"beta if I ask you something, will you answer me truthfully?"
"Sure Dadima"
"Why were you annoying your bhai to come to the ceremony?"
"I can't tell you. Its a mission" (he whispers in her ears) "don't tell anyone"
"I won't but what if I say I will help you in this mission. Then what?"
"you will?" (Dadima nodes her head. Vicky comes closer to her ears and whispers) "Di, did. This is our special mission"
"oh. Now, don't tell your di you told me this, okay? I will help you secretly and you take all the credits"
Vicky frowns and gets up from her lap. He brings his notepad and starts writing something down.
"What happened? What are you writing?"
"I am writing on who to tell and who not to tell with my mission. Di told me not tell bhai or anyone. You are telling me not to tell Di or bhai. This is getting really confusing."
Dadima laughs and ruffles his hair before leaving. "I have to get to the bottom of this and figure out why Geet didn't tell me or anyone in this house."

Guys I think I bit more than I can chew.😆 I know I said 100 chapters but now I don't know if I can reach 100 chapters 😆😆 Lets see how far I can get with he twists and twirls I have in mind.😉😆
