Ranbir:I am neither confirming or denying

From a star son to a star himself, Ranbir Kapoor has come a long way in his Bollywood journey of five years. Sitting pretty on back-to-back BO successes, his debut film, Saawariya, seems to have been the only low point in his career. But he is no more saddened by his failures and rumours than ecstatic at his successes.

The New Year too sparked off with a fresh set of rumours about him and his rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif spending New Year's in New York.
"These are matters an actor has to deal with. Most senior actors are married and away from controversies. People like me have always been at the receiving end. But I am not complaining," Ranbir says.
So does the honest guy admit that he spent New Year's with Katrina? "To set the record straight, yes, I was in NYC for New Year's. I have been spending New Year's there for many years now. I am neither confirming nor denying whether Katrina was with me. I'd rather leave it at that because otherwise it will lead to complications," Ranbir says.
Which leaves us with no option but to move on to Deepika Padukone. Several versions of the Ranbir-Deepika story have been floating around for a while now. So is it really true that his mother Neetu Singh's disapproval of Deepika eventually played havoc in their relationship? "No, that's not true. I don't think me or anyone from my family has commented on their non-equation. My mother was and always will be very cordial with my friends," Ranbir says.
On the professional front, things couldn't have been better for him. Ranbir is not disappointed that Barfi lost out on the Oscar race. "I never thought that the film would do well commercially. It did well and earned accolades ' that was a big high. We didn't feel bad that it failed to make it to the top 20 at the Oscars. What I felt bad about was that a certain section of the industry accused us of plagiarism," says the actor.
After hitting the bull's eye with films like Rockstar and Barfi, Ranbir now wants to play a negative character. He says, "Deep down, I've always wanted to play Mogambo. The flamboyance and sheen of that character is beyond words."
