WEll, yes... Lord Voldemort should not have harmed the innocent souls around him, but truthfully, who can blam him? Who hurt his family, his life, his mother,? Who? The people, the muggles......... it's unreasonable you might think, but put yourself in such a situation and the only thing you would want to do is try to kill somebody 😡 ...... 😃 Good going... and urs are as good as mine, if not better 😛

Well....I used to think like that...I had even started a fanfic about tom's life....but HBP changed my views completely.
If u see what Dumbledore showed Harry in the pensieve in HBP....was tht even when he was a child, Tom Riddle had tht evilness in him..he would use his magical powers against the other little children in the orphanage..
well we have all heard of bullies (remember Dudley??) But tom went beyond the normal bully...he actually used to kill ppl's pets...he ha taken those 2 lil kids to tht cave and scared the wits out of them...
Agreed tht he was alone in the world and the orphanage is no place to grow up....but he was evil right from childhood...because right from childhood he has wanted to be "different" from everyone else..wanted to be famous and above all powerful...n maybe tht thirst from power might have cropped up from the time he first realised tht he could make unusual things to happen....make objects fly..talk to snakes etc..
N when he came to knoe tht he wasn't unique in the world as there was a whole community of witches n wizards who could make things fly n use magic..he wanted to be the best amongsts wizards n outdo them all..
So...he didn't look at the dark arts as something forbidden or bad...he was just after power and to (as dumbledore says) "to carve for himself an astonishing place in wizarding history"
He had plenty of chances to turn back to the right side ut he never took them..
I can understand his being an orphan and all...but then again..look at Harry.
Harry's an orphan too...he was raised in worse conditions than riddle who had the care of the orphanage which can't admittedly, replace ur real parents...but I feel tht its much better than the conditions in which harry was brought up..
Harry had to grow up with the dursleys who actually abused him right from the moment he was brought into their miserable house...But see the path which Harry chose.....
I can understand Voldemort wanting to revenge himself against his father..but I feel sorta pity for Tom Riddle Senior too. Was it his fault if Merope passed him a love potion n seduced him into having a child?
Nor it is wholly poor Merope's fault..he life was pathetic....
So all in all....it was series of mistakes which led to to riddle being born...

what are u talkn abt? what muggles??? I felt rather it was the other way round...riddle lived in a muggle orphanage...but I do not think tht he was mistreated there....indeed if what Mrs. Cole told abt tom to Dumbledore, Tom Riddle was left alone most of the time...and that was because he scared the others..
so from the beginning, it was always about Tom scaring the muggles, wasn't it??
As for tom's mother, well she wasn't tortured by the muggles, but by her own family...
Voldemort's hatred of muggles isn't due to the fact tht he was raised n abused in a muggle orphanage..but bcoz he thinks tht muggles r inferior n stupid n useless n the world is better off without them..
Also..he likes to think he's superior to them n the muggle borns coz he's the heir of slytherin n all..even though he himself is a half-blood
