Janet, I wouldn't agree with you that Diwakar has the best, clean voice. He has a good voice which can be used to sing some soulful songs, but he completely lacks spirit. I don't know if passing years will help him to get some more expression, but right now he doesn't have it. Certainly riyaaz will help him to develop more resilience.

Execellent post Janet... I love the way you write... I do not think that he has a better voice than Sanchita, Abhro or Pawni, but his singing is very soulful.. Wishing Diwakar all the best.. The kid has a lot of potential and am sure will do wonders in life... Its very very unfair to criticize him for him disability... As you all have pointed out, sympathy is the last thing that the poor kid wants....

But I am with Ranig and other Sanchita fans and think that she deserves to win just because I think she is the best... Though Abhijeet has been very verbose in many things, I absolutely loved his comment when he said that Sanchita just had no competition...

Wishing all the kids very best... But, Sanchita is the best...👍🏼

while I respect your opinion, I believe it's one of the most exaggerated comment (or compliment) I have ever come across this forum as far as lil champs competition is on.

divakar has a soothing voice and fits some songs pretty well, but let's not go overboard with the compliments. let's not forget that he was eliminated before by the judges before public voting. If the only edge that some other contestants had over him was the extra punch, he wouldn't have been eliminated where there were not one but three judges (who are quite known throughout their professional career). voice is an important factor in singning and I am pretty sure that the judges take that into consideration when scoring the contestants.

To me voice is just as important as your performance on a whole, If voice was the only thing then we wouldnt have himmesh, because his voice quality is not that great, We have moved from that world where music was for the people who learned music throughout, I would recommend looking to the west as well, Madonna, Britney spears, do you think these people had professional music training. Nope madonna was training for dancing and she had to sing in a concert and that is how she realized she had a voice too. If i am not mistaken whitney housten was a model before she began singing. So what am i trying to say, it is not just your voice, but your personality and your performance that makes you a star. I have heard nihira, she is very good, but why isnt she singing professionally?. Twinkle on the other hand found another calling and is now into soaps, there is a new serial starting with her as a star.

I wasnt comparing Diwakar dance to Sameer, I mean that he moved a little and it was a compliment to him that he looked cool and since he is square jawed I think he would look cool growing his hair a little and gelling it so it falls behind. I am not sure though I would leave that to the hair stylist to see if that works. So in this episode Diwakar did gel his hair a little in the front and he looked cool and that is exactly what I meant. He looked different and if anyone has noticed I think he even lost weight and is looking great now with the new outfits and all.

As for his singing capability if his voice and his emotions werent that good I dont think Jackie sheroff would have cried. And lets not forget the judges are humans so a mistake can happen, Diwakar has a superior voice quality and to me all he needs is that style. Sameer on the other hand does not have a superior voice, his scale is far lower than Diwakar and if he has to sing high it cracks, whereas Diwakar is capable of taking high notes but cant at the moment, and his voice does not crack it strains, so his scale can go much higher. To me Diwakar can become an outstanding star all he needs is that style that Sameer has and Sanchita has

I thought I would do one more post since it is thanksgiving, anyways let me try and explain my philosophy, since it is a tricky subject I am sure I would get pounded with responses for this one. anyways

abhro does not have a clear pronounciation and his voice cannot suit most of our actors, Diwakar in my case has

good voice (not great at the moment)+clear pronounciation in hindi+speaks english really well+has a good range(which will improve as he grows older)+style(lacking)+can talk well

Abhro
great voice+no clear pronounciation in hindi +I havent heard him speak english(but I believe speaks with an accent)+has a great range+style(some songs well others like the train episode misses punch)+cant talk well

Sameer
good voice + better pronounciation in hindi especially tapori songs is a star + english(not much and speaks with an accent)+has a good range but when he takes high he cracks+ great style+can speak hindi well and english with an accent.

now that we have all our three stars according to me Diwakar has more potential, all he has to do is get the style and the beat in his voice, then he is unbeatable. Again you might ask what has english got to do with singing, in our fast beat hindi songs you have to sing or speak in english as well and this is what the music director looks for, I have few friends who know the movie industry well, and as far as what my knowledge goes, a music director will want to take less takes on a song, it saves him money and time and the less changes he has to make he is even more happier, Diwakar is a plain singer right now but that will improve with the training but he has a great command over both the languages and as for his voice it is great and he can take high ranges what he needs is the style, when he sits with in the recordings he will understand

A little off topic, but nihira has sung professionally even before c2005. then I believe that adesh gave her and hemachandra a role in playback singing in one of his movies. and she is also lending her voice to kasam se (the zee serial). forum members can verify this better than I can and let you know exactly where she professionally sung. Now you mentioned Twinkle doing soaps. What does that have to do with singing? If anything, it shows that nihira is more into professional singing than Twinkle who is now into acting (By the way, both of them were my favorites in c2005).

Jackie sheroff's crying is hardly a criterion for gauging someone's voice quality. in c2005, kapil dev cried after vinit sang the border's song. the song's lyrics themselves were touching. when I heard vinit's song from another room (so I could just concentrate on his singing rather than watcning him) I felt his singing was ok, nothing super-impressive. As for this challenge, I would rather go with three professional singers'/directors' judgement than a non-singer guest's reaction. and most guests display their emotions for the most part and just by that alone it's difficult to judge a singer's voice quality or his/her background.

bananashot has written well and I do agree with your post but again lets not forget this is a money making business. What if the judges do like Diwakar all of them, but have this drama to enact on the show to increase its rating. How do we know that this their honest and professional opinion? we do not. Let me put it this way, I dont trust the judges opinion right now. Why because this is reality TV showcasing deception. I am not saying Diwakar is the best but he has a unique voice a strong base voice, which is very difficult to find. and when he takes low notes his voice does not crack, most people sing rhythm and can sing high relatively well but to sing low notes and so well is amazing. In my opinion, I wanted Diwakar in the top three because I felt he deserved the training like the others and I believe and have full faith in his future acheivements, you see I believe he is the next legend, Probably exaggerating to most of you, but my feeling is that he is. I want him to get into the top two and will vote for him to be there but if not, no harm, he has got something to start with, and I do hope Sanchita wins because she is good at the moment BUT if Diwakar gives a breaktaking performance then I will vote for him and his Jackie sheroff episode went really well.
