Thursday, 27th December 10:00 AM IST Salman Khan is all set to announce his big film for Eid 2013. Early reports coming in suggest that Bollywood's reigning superstar has once again chosen to remake a Telugu blockbuster. He has reportedly bought the rights of the 2006 superhit, "Stalin", and will be reprising the central role essayed by superstar Chiranjeevi in the film. Sources say this is the same project that made news recently, with reports that Salman will play a character named Radhe- his name in the 2003 hit "Tere Naam" - in the film. The yet-untitled film is in its scripting stages. "Stalin" was an action film directed by "Ghajini" maker A.R. Murugadoss and had Chiranjeevi playing an ex-army officer who sets out to reform the society with a unique plan of action. Loaded with scope for filmy kicks and punches, the plot had the hero creating a chain system, whereby a person helps another in need and in turn the beneficiary goes out to help three other people. Although Murugadoss, directed the original, the Hindi remake will be directed by Salman's youngest brother Sohail Khan, who had earlier planned to launch the ambitious adventure film "Sher Khan" for next Eid but had to scrap the plan reportedly owing to Salman's health. Sources say Salman, whose charitable organisation Being Human has been doing admirable work, was attracted by the social service theme of "Stalin". There is no confirmation on who will play the heroine opposite Salman. |
