Thanks for clarifying that Janetji,it really hurt me because i can't make that sort of comments for any child, diabled or not.

As far as hypothetical situations go I might throw some at u which might make u choose justice over compassion,so lets stay away from hypothetical situations.

I still say fr me justice comes before compassion because justice is what u do objectively ,compassion is subjective, may differ from person to person,ur compassion for Diwaker may turn out to be punishment for some other kid.

Well i dont think that Diwakar is in the competition for the money, I suppose his parents have enough resources to take care of him and so do the other parents, what we are looking for here is the chance to be trained by some of the best in the industry and to get an access into an otherwise close door.

This is what I hope for Diwakar, the chance to make a mark that people will not forget and based on how the voting is going, I think most people feel the same. You may feel otherwise, but most people for whatever reasons are supporting Diwakar to give him that break that he needs. Why is he more favored for this break than others, we could keep discussing and still not agree. So i will take a stand on this and say some of us can agree to disagree.

I just hope that all this discussion does not throw Diwakar away from the limelight and maybe in certain ways I may be provoking more angry remarks towards him through my posts. Hence I will stop, I believe in Diwakar and that is own feeling, and I do hope he improves a lot and he wins not only this competition but in life as well.

This is my last reply to you(not because I want to have the last word).

I wish all the children(including Diwakar) who participated in this competition work hard, succeed and have come out of it with good lessons and encouragment to make a mark for themselves. When i was a kid, I remember that the reward/award at the end of a competition was always the driving force to be a part of it. Maybe the real reward here is not the money but an apportunity to be able to sing in a movie or get a record out and the best of all would be to have a successful career in singing. That goal is a bit too far away in the mind of these kids. Even the earlier winners for challenge 2005 are a struggling to make a name for themselves. At the rate and number of similar shows increasing there is going to be an abundance of talent out in this industry. With composers becoming singers themselves(like Himesh, Anu etc.) the chances for talented new comers is going to be few and far inbetween.

I wish them the best always.

Interesting thought,

maybe we should teach these kids be the composers first, That we know is not that difficult,

1. Go to an Arabic, African shop

2. Ask what is the most popular song these days

3. Write lyrics using words such as Juftazu, Aarzoo, Aashiq, doesnt really have to make sense.

4. Show it to a producer, the more non-sensical it is the more quickly they will pounce on it,

5. Do this a couple of times

VOILA, Music Director

then sing your own compositions

What say😉

I did not know it was that easy. To think thousands of dollars are spent on making sure the best music comes out of a movie and it turns out to be so elementary. I can see you've worked out the process and made it big yourself in the composing business. 😆

Ok I dont want to move away from the topic here, but I needed to post this so you see my point of view. Have you ever worked with the poor people in India, lepers, visited an old age home, visited an orphanage. I did this when I was in India, I along with my team would arrange campaigns to abolish leprosy in India and what happened. We had huge corporations and international organizations like united nation supporting our campaign, doctors, nurses who would go out of their working schedules to bring people to the clinic, support workers educating people to get themselves checked and treated as soon as possible.

We would have to drag people to the clinic everyday and everyday we would have them run away, we asked them why. Along with medication they were getting a place to stay and also food. They told us to Get lost and leave them alone, some of them would openly curse and abuse us for helping them, they called this disease their living bread, they earned money because they had this disease and they enjoyed living on the streets. Then we thought fine, maybe we can help them get better jobs, women could help out in the cottage industry, we promised them work after a few months of training which include board and food, but that too didnt work, because they made more money on the streets. I have even worked with the old age homes, and most of our old where thrown there because of the fact that they shivered when they ate and dirtied their tables. And here is a kid with disability who make a big name for himself and we want to show him how disgusting our world is.

Diwakar is a disabled child with parents who did not think of abandoning him in an orphanage when they realized he was disabled. They brought him up with dignity and with respect for himself and that is what makes him unique. Diwakar brings a promise to other children who are equally disabled that you can make big in this world all you have to do is dream big and work hard to make it a reality. Gajji may have made this whole drama of bringing Diwakar back because he wants to fill his pockets, but knowingly or unknowingly he has made a wish for a child who is disabled that you can dream big and make it big all you have to do is pray hard, believe in yourself and work even harder. Hats off to him for giving a disabled child a second chance.

Maybe there will be an opportunity for a poor child and then children on the street will realize let me check into this helpful organizations instead of running away and work hard and make it big like everyone else. At this moment I havent been involved very much with any organization in India, I am busy setting up a non-profit organization, which will provide aid to these children on the streets, and more importantly education. Hope I can acheive this goal.

Janet, I don't think I agree with you here. Though I don't endorse remarks which are insulting to Diwakar, I don't think it is a sign of mature thinking on the public's part to "blindly" vote for Diwakar.
Your ideas about compassion are exemplary and I am not surprised that you are involved in good causes. However, voting for Diwakar just because he is disabled and giving a short shrift to more talented singers does not sound fair to me at all.
The next time, able-bodied singers will stop competing in contests like this if they see a disabled person competing too! Why should they work hard to polish their talents if a disabled person comes along and wins all the laurels?
The concept of "reservation" for backward categories is based on the same premise as what you are advocating for disabled persons. This concept has to be used very carefully and in a fair manner. Let us not discriminate against healthy, able-bodied, normal persons.
If Gajendra Singh had kept a special prize (to be decided by public voting) and one prize based on "judge's choice", it would have made more sense to me.

you are 100% correct....these 4 kids should be in top 4.....i don't know, why public voting is going towards diwakar?its a show of singing talent...they should know we have to listen how kids are singing,if you don't know how to judgment then don't vote anyone...

u r right. i wont dream in sameer in top 4..

about diwakar yes i think ist bein hyped.. he cant sing with versatility.. Diwakar's father said to abhijeet [i undersatnd abhijeet was rude - well he is from the beginning] u come 2stage n cover ur eyes with a mike and see the world.. well well well, what are u saying Mr. Diwakar's Father? here we are not talking about ur son's impairment.. we r here to appreciate, judge/ vote someones' singing.. bringing his disabiltiy into limelight is a shame... consider everyone in one boat and them vote for a single trait that we are trying to measure.. dont get biased by what he is/was/ or how funny he is etc etc..

but who cares.. im gonna vote for SANCHITA.. VOTE SANCHITA ONLINE u can do it at least 500 times by refreshing n clicking... if u dnt like her then vote ur fav champ simialrly..

but the problem with this more than one vote system is biased.. i can vote someone 2 lakhs in a week.. and make him/her winner if they r getting 5-6lkahs ...
