Why do we have WEAK No #1's since 1998/1999?!

In my opinion Madhuri is overrated! Sridevi also to certain extent! These two beauties were graceful dancers and pretty good looking. Sridevi was better than Madhuri in comedy movies, after Sridevi it was Juhi and after Juhi it was Karishma in comedy genre. Madhuri was good at dance numbers and emotional outbursts. But, I think today's generation think of them legends like yesterday's generation thought Madhubala, Meena Kumari were legends. The former two actors also had their limitations--for one Madhubala couldn't really dance, all her dance numbers in Mughal-e-Azam were performed by some other dancer. And Meena Kumari was yesterday's Kangana Ranaut she was good at doing troubled alcoholic roles. Rekha and Hema Malini also had their limitations! In the same sense today's actresses have their limitations - Vidya can do powerful roles but looks older and lacks glamour, Kareena can do variety but is not great dancer, Katrina looks good and dances good, Rani/PZ-nobody wants them anymore, PC is hit and miss, DP can do today's gen roles etc etc. The final word is actresses unfortunately have a limited life in cinema and are easily replaceable unlike the actors

So true...none of these actresses...Kat, Kareena, Vidya, PC and the whole nione yards...have the magic of Madhuri or Sridevi...thats why they all are almost at the same level...with no one as the clear # 1...

Kajol could have truly had a VERY long reign, if she wanted to. But she decided to take a break and be a wife and mother. She was offered all the TOP films when she was on top after a spectacular 1998. She was offered Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), Mohabbatein (2000), Shakti (2002), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Veer Zaara (2004), KANK (2006), 3 Idiots (2009). She knew these would be mega hits and even win her awards, but she didn't feel connected to the characters so she said no. Can't imagine the likes of Kareena or Rani doing the same today.

- Priyanka unfortunately will never be No.1 in the future, she'll remain Top 5 for a good few more years at least.

- Kareena will also see a downward slide, which has already started in my opinion, which is a bit of a shame because she was great in all her 2012 films... sadly her "magic" has faded

- Vidya will be right up there, but she is peerless which kind of works to her disadvantage. She's not commercial enough to be No.1

- Katrina, who has been rising ever since 2007, is right at the top of the pack right now. Amazing achievement for someone with average talent. But the girl's got tons of dedication.

- Deepika has overcome her slight flop period and is ready to take on Katrina once again. She could rise to the top over the next year or two.

- Anushka Sharma is my pick of the pack, I've said it before, she's got the most potential, and she's proved her mettle up until now and has great projects lined up

- Sonakshi also has the potential to become a future Queen, if she has luck on her side, she could be No.1 for a long time.
