till now we have seen that maa durga created brahma who gave birth to 7 sapt rishis and a daksha . 1 sapt rishi gave birth to rishi kashyap . who gave birth to asurs , devtas and all . we are introduced with kalki who is the first asur who deviated his ways to the wrong path . if so , than how come there be a durga maa idol with lion and 8 hands . till now she hasnot taken any form on earth which humans cold worship . JJMDians shed light on this please .

dont hv any idea abt it...may b the makers wanted to show MA DURGA like that only ...

The real question here is - are all the Ma Durgas the same? As discussed in the D&D thread, there is Param Shakti, and then there is Adi Shakti. Now the latter is personified in Parvati, and one of her forms is Durga, and that's the form in which she is worshiped during the Navratri festival.

In fact, even within that, the Durga who killed Mahishashur had 8 arms and the one who killed Shumbha, Nishumbha et al had 18. (In Kolkata, they show her w/ 10 hands in the pandals). These Durgas are derivatives of Parvati, as opposed to the original Param Shakti that this serial seems to be about.
