Bhabho came to know about Home science when she met the girl for Mohit .She was surprised to knw abt such studies.Since Sandhya is unable to cope up with sewing,cooking and other house hold management skills .Bhabho may take a decision of sending sandhya to college to study home science.

They will teach how to cook,sew,how to manage household finances,household chores etc etc.If Bhabho take such decision it would be very big relief to Suraj and Sandhya.Sandhya can normally attend the college during day time and night time she can have a good sleep.

For writing IPS exam,graduation is very eesential.If sandhya can complete her third year of graduation succesfully she can appear for IPS exam. Things related to her IPS exam she may not study but sooraj can help her buying good books,guides where she can prepare on her own for IPS exam.

This way without everyday hungama in Rathi house,sandhya can realise her dreams as well as Bhabho's.Suraj also won't have guilt of lying to bhabho.

I thought the same..will bhabho ask Sandhya to study home science...but then, no. Bhabho won't allow her beendani to go to college. She would rather teach everything to Sandhya by herself.

Nice idea. However I have my own doubts regarding migration to another subject in third year.

1 .Sandhya has done BA for two years. Is she allowed to switch to B.Sc Home Science in the third year ?

2. Her main purpose of doing BA, is the subjects will help her in civil services. If that is not allowed than she can sit at home and do it through correspondence. That will be more easy to hide than night college. It is a disadvantage for civil services but is a better option than Home science.

3. More over there is every possibility she may fail if she takes it up considering her performance in that front. ,even if shown unrealistically in the third year. That will be a permanent black mark. Though the idea sounds good to keep Bhabo happy, I think it will be highly unrealistic if they show a switch in third year. As Bharati said Bhabo will not agree.

good idea, only if the show was not dabh. i think dabh believes in high voltage drama and this seems pretty ease to me. there are a large no. of aangan dramas coming up and bhabho doesnot believe in colleges ,she would rather teach it herself.

i dont think changing of paper is allowed in third year.
is home science a s,ience paper,i think it is a arts subject.having said that choice of subject is not really that important in upsc exam, we see many engineers and mba giving upsc exam. one paper is of your choice and other is general knowledge i guess. all i m writing this with my limited knowledge, i may be wrong

1. I know change of subject is not allowed, that is why I wrote.

2. Anybody who is a graduate can apply for civil services.

3. Having said that the subjects like History or Political science or Economics put you at an advantage in both Prelims and the Mains General knowledge section.

4. In the Mains they have to take two main papers apart from language and GK section., of which there is a list to choose from. It has Arts, Science and Commerce subjects.

5. The Science and Commerce students have to work harder than their Arts counterparts as the humanities candidates have already done a major portion of GK syllabus in their college subjects while the others have to do it at the time of preparation. So in GK they have an advantage. In other subjects again for Humanities the Mains and Gk syllabus overlap so they have to study less.

Bhabho would not ask Sandhya to study Home Science for sure.

Bhabho takes pride in her ability run the home and mentioned that she learnt home management by herself. No way she will allow "somebody else" to train her Beendini in home science.

Well said, but Bhabo won't like her DILs going to college, be it any reason, and moreover in 3rd year switching streams like that isn't possible I guess.
