I think this is Pharingytis. It is infection of pharynx (voice box) in the throat.

I get this once in a coupje of years and the symptoms are quite similar. So painful that you cannot swallow anything and you cannot speak.

It is not serious, because it is curable by antibiotic course.

Whatevre it is, Deepika, I am praying with all my heart for your quick recovery and that fabulous smile on your lips and your voice back to saying "jee bhabho" and "suraj ji"!
