Will they? Won't they? This time, it's official! And the confirmation comes straight from the horses' (sorry, Ronit Roy's and Anuj Saxena's) mouths! While Ronit is quitting Ektaa Kapoor's 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', Anuj is walking out of another 'K' serial, 'Kkusum'. Manisha Almadi finds out the why behind the bye...
The sneak peek: Ronit 'Bose' Roy's character — Rishab Bajaj — will be killed in 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' to help the serial's producers tide over his exit. Plus, with no replacement in sight, that ends the problem of the love triangle too!
How will Mr Bajaj die? He'll meet with an accident and go into coma, never to return. The scene will be set in Kolkata, where the family pays a visit to the Dakshin temple for Kali puja. Bajaj and Prerna enjoy a romantic moment in a boat when Anurag sees them and frowns. To erase those memories, he drinks. When Prerna reveals her plans to visit Mohini for the visarjan the next morning, Anurag gets upset. Their quarrel leads to their car dashing into Bajaj's. The accident sends Bajaj into coma. Then, Prerna suffers from amnesia. She can only see blurred images of Anuraj and Aparna. She loses her memory and thinks she is married to Anurag.
''My character will go into coma but whether I return to the serial or not is for the producers to decide,'' says Ronit. ''So far, nothing has been communicated to me in this regard.'' While the nature of Ronit's tone makes it appear as if he won't return to 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', the Star serial's creative director Shailja Kejriwal says: ''Ronit will stage a temporary walkout from the serial.''
Meanwhile, Anuj Saxena is set to walk out of 'Kkusum'. Here too, his character — Abhay — will be killed. In tomorrow's episode, 'Kkusum' will stab Abhay. Anuj nods in agreement. ''This will come as a shock, not just to me but also to viewers who wouldn't have dreamt of such a drastic development. No one could have imagined 'Kkusum' taking such a step. What makes matters worse is that she stabs Abhay on Karva Chauth.'' According to Sony's creative director Anupama Mandloi: ''This big twist is a milestone of sorts for 'Kkusum'. Abhay's death will be the turning point of the serial. Subsequently, there will be high-voltage courtroom drama between Abhay and Kkusum where they get physical with each other.' But why this sudden twist? Was there a tiff between Anuj and the channel,or has Anuj just opted out? ''There were no differences with Anuj,'' insists Anupama. ''This scene was planned long ago.''
