Younis handed Pakistan captaincy
Younis Khan
Younis has made two tons and 25 fifties since his ODI debut in 2000
Younis Khan has been confirmed as the Pakistan captain for the forthcoming Champion's Trophy following the four-match ban on Inzamam-ul-Haq. Inzamam, who has led the team since 2002, will be available for the final in India, should Pakistan qualify. "Inzamam is our key player but we will take this as a challenge," Younis said. Younis, 28, has skippered Pakistan in two Tests and two one-day games, winning and losing one each and said: "It is a great honour." Pakistan were pegged back to 2-2 by England in the recent one-day series, having raced into a 2-0 lead with some formidable displays.
If we play to our potential, we can do well
Younis Khan
Younis, who scored a century in the day/night victory at The Rose Bowl on 5 September, is confident his team can achieve success in the Champions Trophy, which comprises three group matches, a semi-final and final. "This current team is a well-knit side," he said. "If we play to our potential, we can do well."

They begin against a qualifying team, either Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies or Zimbabwe, and also face New Zealand and South Africa in Group B.
