Yash Chopra's last directorial venture, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" featuring Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif fails to cross the coveted Rs. 200 crore mark worldwide, reports IBTimes on Dec. 8.
The movie had opened in theaters during the six-day Diwali weekend. One anticipated big numbers, keeping in mind that it was a romantic saga from the maestro of romance featuring the King of that genre, Shahrukh Khan.
"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" that was released across 2,500 screens in India and 600 screens internationally fared exceptionally well at the box offices in its first week, despite facing a tough fight from Ajay Devgn's "Son of Sardaar." However, in the upcoming weeks, the earnings declined and with the advent of Aamir Khan's suspense thriller, "Talaash," they became almost negligible.
While the earnings may have dwindled at the domestic circuit, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan," just like any other SRK starrer was declared a blockbuster overseas
On Dec. 7, trade analyst, Taran Adarsh updated the domestic numbers on Twitter. He tweeted , "#JTHJ 3rd Week: 3.02 cr. Grand total: 120.85 cr net"
The international figures are as follows, as per Adarsh
"#JTHJ *total after 3rd Weekend* UK 1,491,655 [Rs 13 cr] ... USA $ 3,270,132 [Rs 17.91 cr] ... UAE + GCC $ 3,507,000 [Rs 19.21 cr]."
"#JTHJ *total after 3rd Weekend* Australia A$ 689,308 [Rs 3.90 cr] ... New Zealand NZ$ 199,411 [Rs 88.87 lacs]. BLOCKBUSTER in Overseas."
