Past in Red
Geet was busying playing with Raj's fingers when her eyes caught the sight of the little cute roses in the balcony. Once her eyes saw them she could not look behind. It was like a serene sight for her eyes to see tat one corner of the balcony was all covered with beautiful red, yellow, pink and white roses. Her legs on their own reached to the balcony while she sat down playing with those cute roses touching, kissing and caressing them. It was not long tat her eyes saw another small rose bud that was just blooming was hanging from the balcony. She tried to pull it up but could not reach the bud and the rose plant started to hurt her yet she did not leave. She slowly bend towards the edge trying to get a hold of the rose bud and the moment she did she slipped, hanging herself towards the other side when the whole room echoed with the voice DOLLL…
Raj had seen Geet moving out of the room and the moment he saw her going near the roses he smile thinking about how she had shared the love for rose like him. it was her idea when she was a child to have roses in his balcony and Raj did as she said but the moment he saw her falling he throat screamed for his DOLLL.. The moment he saw his doll was about to fall he was gifted with the unknown strength and ran to get hold of his Doll before she could fall. The sight tat he saw made him to shiver for a second but he knew tat he had to save his doll and he slowly bend down hanging himself but it was not easy as she was hanging a bit lower at the edge.
Maan who had just parked his car was horrified when he saw something hanging and the moment his eyes realized it was his Mishti his whole body stood numb at one place. His voice refused to come out while his eyes refused to blink.
Raj was trying his best to get hold of her and the moment he saw tears in his Doll's eyes he broke.
Raj: Doll.. nothing will happen.. see your Dad.. is back.. see Doll.. Dad will bring you back.. see Doll.. hold my hand.. hold my hand doll..
Geet looked up with teary face and said.
Geet: Mishti.. fall.. down.. see.. Mishti.. die.. Angel.. baby.. Mehar.. save.. Mishti..Mishti fall down.. Angelll..
Her loud voice brought Maan back and the moment he saw her he ran on his toes running for his life that needed him. Here Raj somehow managed to get hold of her hand but now it was impossible for him to pull her up as a mere mistake and she would fall along with him. Raj was not scared for himself but he feared for the life who was dangling down and who was the happiness for this mansion. Mehar, by now realized wat happened started to cry loud calling for her Dadda, Mumma and Dada. She was wailing so loud tat Raj could not concentrate on Geet. He could not bear her cries and just turned for few seconds to see Mehar standing closer near the railings.
Raj: Mehar.. sshhh.. Mumma..will be fine.. see Dada.. there na…
Mehar: Dada.. Mumma.. fall.. Dada… Mumma.. Mumma..
Raj: No baby.. Mumma.. fine.. see Dada.. hold Mumma hand na..
Raj felt his hold on Geet loosened and at once he tightened it but for how long he could do tat. He was weak though he tried his best and held onto his Doll tight.
Mehar: Dadda… Mumma..Mumma fall… Mumma….
Maan barged into the room followed by others who were shocked to see him running and climbing the stairs like a manic and the moment they saw everything their freeze on their spot while Maan ran to get hold of them. Vicky instantly came out of his shock and ran behind Maan while Pari ran to pull Mehar out from there. She hugged Mehar tight into her arms soothing her but Mehar's eyes were only looking at her Mumma.
Maan saw his Mishti and the moment he saw her, he realized tat her eyes were getting droopy, tat made his nerves too freeze thinking about it. In a second he jumped stabilizing his legs around the railings and getting hold of her hand while Vicky held Raj pulling him slowly yet Raj was not ready to leave her hand. The force, which Vicky used, made Raj to tighten his hold on Geet and his body refused to come up. Maan held Geet tight but it was not easy for him to get her up. He needed to balance himself properly but as Raj was closer and he was not ready to leave her it was getting difficult for him and for a moment even he felt tat he wont be able to get her back.
Maan: Dad.. please..leave her hand..
Raj: No I wont.. she will fall Maan.. My Doll will fall..
Father – son started to argue but the argument was for their life who was slowly slipping from them, having their eyes on her.
Maan: Dad.. please.. I need her to bring up.. please Dad..
Raj: you cant.. I know you will hurt her.. My doll.. I need to save her..
Maan closed his eyes with pain and guilt but he had to be strong.
Maan: I wont Dad.. I wont.. I cant let Mishti to go Dad.i cant let Her Mehar's.. Mumma go dad… please Dad.. for once.. trust me…
Raj shifted his eyes to his son and the moment he saw him, who had his eyes on his Doll. His heart said tat he was her Maan.. the Maan whom she loved.. the Maan whom he loved. Raj slowly loosened his hold on her hand and Vicky pulled Raj up caring not to hurt him. Maan for once, lost his balance but Vicky was sharp to get hold of his legs to support him followed by Raj. They held his legs tight while Maan held Get but he was scared as she was closing her eyes.
Maan: Mishti.. don't.. don't close you eyes.. Mishti..
Geet looked up at her Angel and saw him crying.
Geet: Angel….
Maan: Please Mishti.. Don't close your eyes.. see m here.. don't close.
Raj and Vicky held him tight while Maan pulled Geet slowly upwards but still he could not stop her from getting hurt by scratching her soft hands on the roof-cemented edges of the balcony. It was not easy as she was almost on the edge to fall down but Maan did focus even though his elbows were bleeding now but still held her tight and next second he applied all his force pulling her up while he hurt his head hitting it to the railing when he pulled her up making it to bleed falling back on the floor, holding her tight in his arms making sure tat she was fine and safe now, but the moment he tried to feel her she was numb and still. He panicked seeing her trying to wake her up patting her cheeks while the blood tat was dripping for his forehead filled her parting marking her once again as his.

Raj held her hand tight while Dr. Viren examined her. Maan was seated at one corner of the room watching his Mishti unconscious. Mehar was held by Pari who was still crying seeing her Mumma. Dadima tried to clean Maan's wounds but he did not let anyone come closer to him not even Mehar who was crying for him and Geet. But in all this none had realized tat Raj was back on his legs and was talking. The fear seeing Geet was so deep tat none of them did see tat the person who was sleeping for long was back and now holding his Doll.
Dr. Viren: Raj.. she is fine.. its just a panic attack Raj.. Geet is fine.
Raj: no she is not.. she was scared.. I saw her.. my Doll she was.. she.. was about to fall..
Dr. Viren: Raj. Calm down.. she is fine.. Your doll is fine Raj…
Viren touched Raj by his shoulder but he jerked them away getting angry and walking to hold Mehar but the moment Viren saw him walking he was shocked when he realized wat he saw.
Viren: Raj… tum.. chal sakthe ho..
The words from Viren brought everyone back from the fear attack and their eyes shifted to Raj who was now looking at Viren with wide-open eyes. Viren came closer and shook him with excitement, happiness and shock making sure tat he was not dreaming.
Viren: Raj… you are out from your sleep Raj.. see Raj.. you are walking.. you are talking Raj… Vicky.. see your Dad.. he is fine..
Viren was so excited to see his friend all fine when he had failed for years. Everyone just kept looking at Raj when Shikha came had hugged Raj tight sharing her happiness of having him back. Dadima shed tears along with Pari who had seen the family in pain ever since she had come to KM after her marriage. Though initially she did not like all the things she slowly got to know wat Geet was to them. She felt blessed to be in love with Vicky and have a family like Khuranna's. Vicky to join the hug shedding his tears but in this all failed to realize tat Maan was no more with them in tat room.

Maan who was lost in the fear of losing his Mishti came out from the room and walked through the corridors of the mansion reaching the last corner tat was always surrounded by darkness. It was a place where he often sat torturing him with this darkness and today his legs brought him hear once again he slid down the wall sitting on the tiled floor while his eyes had had only the pain and fear. However, Maan had failed to see in his pain and fear tat someone was having an eye on him. Raj who though was shock and happy to be back but his eyes were on his son who was moving out from their happy life slowly. His eyes and legs followed Maan and the moment he saw him going towards the darkest area of the Mansion his heart cried seeing him. However, he was all silent and numb for years but he could see and hear whenever Maan uses to come and cry out in front of him when no one was there. He could see how he suffered and was repenting each of his words and mistakes. Raj could never forgive Maan, but he could not see him dying each second. He knew tat his Maan was back but he wanted him to be back fully with his Mishti and he knew tat it was time now tat he forget their past and move embracing the happiness which will follow.
Raj slowly sat next to Maan almost touching his own weak body to his sons tat was shivering with the fear he had just faced few minutes back. He saw his eyes if they could feel him, but no they were looking only at the darkness tat feared Raj for a second and the next moment he held his hand pulling Maan on his lap, threading his hair like he did when he was just a small kid and tat very instant Maan turned hugging his Dad tight by his waist shedding the water from his eyes in form of his pain. Raj himself could not stop the tears seeing his son crying, his hands caressing his hair while his lips trying to soothe him with his words.
Raj: You have to win her back Maan.. win my Doll and your Mishti Back.. you have to.
Maan hugged him tight burying his face in him.
Maan: I cant Dad.. I cant.. each moment she is going far Dad.. she is going away from me.. I fear dad.. I fear to loose her now..
Raj: You simply cant Maan.. you are her Maan.. and you cant let your Mishti to go.. win her back.. bring her back.
Maan: No one is with me Dad.. no one..
Raj: They will Maan.. they will.. the moment they understand tat you were not fully at mistake they will.. tell them truth Maan… tell them…
Maan: I tried.. but they don't believe me Dad.. they don't.. they think.. I tried to kill her Dad.. they say tat I murdered my Mishti dad. Even you think the same Dad… I know even you think..
Raj: the day when my Maan told me the truth. I knew tat he was telling the truth.. I know I was not in my senses but my eyes and ears and heart were alive Maan… they knew tat My Maan was back.. they knew tat Mishti's Maan was back..
Maan: m sorry dad.. m sorry.. I was wrong.. but I never stopped her loving dad.. I was angry.. but she was my breadth Dad.. though I hated her but her one look used to help me to breadth dad.. I never loved Sameera dad.. I never loved her.. I wanted to hurt Mishti dad.. I wanted to hurt Mishti.. the way she hurt me.. m sorry.
Raj: Do you remember wat you said tat day Maan.. the day when My Doll.. Your Mishti got her Maan back… you remember..
Maan and Raj went back to their past when they had smiled and lived the moment when they had back their lives.
Can you forgive your Maan…. Mishti..can you forgive your sinner.. Can you Mishti..
Geet looked at Maan so did the whole family who knelt down on his knees with his head down as if doing sajda of the girl standing in front of him.
I know.. I was never capable of being your Maan.. but I know.. tat my Mishti can get back her Maan. I know tat I don't deserve you.. but My Mishti deserves her Maan.. I know tat your love is as pure as god.. and I don't even stand near it…. but I know tat Mishti can make me pure with her love… I know tat she can bring her Maan back where he belonged.
Though Geet could not believe his words as her heart said tat it was her dream but her eyes did not let her heart over take her. Her pearls dropped from her hazels letting her realize tat she was not dreaming but indeed her Maan was talking to her. she blinked trying to get hold of the truth while her lips showed a small smile.
Mishti… can you.. take me back.. I want to live Mishti.. I want live with my Mishti…. And my family. I want to see my Mishti smile.. I want her to fight with me… want her to hit me when I don't listen to her.. I want her to complain to Dad tat her Maan is very bad and does not let her to eat chocolates.. I want Mishti to dominate me the way she did… can I get my Mishti back.. can Mishti get back her Maan.
Geet: My Maan will leave me again.. I know he will leave me again.. he will leave me.. (she turned to Raj) Dad.. ask him.. he will leave me na.. Maan will leave his Mishti na Dad..
Raj looked at his Doll who though was smiling but her eyes still had tat pain.
Geet: say na Dad.. ask him na Dad.. he will leave mishti na…Mishti will die Dad.. Mishti will die…
Maan instantly stood up closing her mouth with his hand. The words tat Mishti will die pierced his heart and soul. He looked into her eyes nodding for a NO.. while she was lost in those eyes which were filled with tears and pain.
Maan: I cant let Mishti Die… even if I hate her she cant.. Mishti cant leave her Maan..
Geet looked at his eyes blinking her eyes to answer his question.
Maan: but she did.. she did try to leave her Maan.. she tried to kill herself when her Maan realized tat he was wrong.. when her Maan realized tat his Mishti was never Geet Handa.. but she was only his Mishti.. only his..
She once again blinked her eyes agreeing to his words.
Maan: Dad.. you want to know na.. want to know why your doll had those pills.. why she tried to kill herself..
Maan still had his hand on her mouth and said..
Maan: Mishti thinks tat she took away my family from me.. she thinks tat she is responsible for everything tat is happening here. She thinks tat her Dad does not love Maan because he loves hid Doll more. She thinks tat Mom hates me coz of her.. she thinks tat Vicky and Annie hates me coz they think tat I m wrong.. but Dad.. she failed to see tat you all are right in hating me.. she failed to see tat she was never wrong but it was me who was wrong. Wrong it not letting her to make me understand. Wrong it not understanding tat my Mishti can never betray me.
Raj: Betrayed you.. she never did Maan.. but it was you.. you who left her all shattered..
Maan: yes Dad.. it was me.. Her Maan.. who betrayed her by not understanding.. betrayed by thinking tat she was ditching me and my love for her behind my back. Thinking tat she played with my pure love for her and using me for taking away my family. Thinking tat she had an affair with Armaan behind my back…aur who bhi kuch hadh se jyada hi kareeb.
Maan could not complete his words as he felt a sharp stinging pain on his cheeks, which led his lips to bleed. He looked at the source and saw his Dad spitting fire and burning in anger for him. Maan did not say a word and was slapped again by Raj when Geet tried to stop him but she backed off seeing Raj telling her not to speak a word now. Raj pulled Maan by his collar and was slapped again.
Raj: How could you Maan.. how could you even think like tat.. she was just 15 Maan so were you..kaha se sheekh liya yeh sab.. who taught you all this Maan..
It was not tat he could not speak a word but he could not as he now realized how wrong his was. He just could say Sorry..
Raj slapped him again shaking him by his collar while everyone saw him with anger.
Raj: Sorry.. how will your sorry undo her pain.. how will your sorry bring my doll back maan.. how will you bring those 7 years where she cried and hated herself turning her into Geet Handa.. how will you Maan..
Maan: m sorry..Dad.. m sorry…I know I was wrong.. I know I killed my Mishti Dad.. but I was angry.. I was angry on her Dad..
Raj: Angry.. you were so angry tat you failed to see the one who always cared for you.. you were so angry tat you failed to see tat you were killing her everyday. You were so angry tat to hurt her you were going along with sameera.. was this your hatred Maan.. was this the way you wanted to punish her.
Maan bowed down his head in front of Raj and said.
Maan: I know Dad.. but I never loved Sameera.. I was just using her to hurt Mishti.. Dad.. just to hurt her so tat she can feel the pain I was going through..
Shikha came forwards and slapped him taking her anger, which she was holding.
Shikha: So you did hurt her Maan.. see .. see her Maan.. she is no more the same Geet whom we knew.. see her Maan… and tell us.. is she your Mishti.. can you see your Mishti in her Maan…
Shikha held his face making him to see Geet.
Shikha: Answer me Maan.. is she the same Mishti.. or is she Geet Handa..
Maan: She is Geet Handa mom… but she is still the same Mishti.. mom.. only my Mishti.. and now my wife Mrs. Geet Maan Singh Khuranna..
These words soothed Geet making her to smile.. smile tat reached her eyes while Raj and others were shocked to see her smiling. Smiling for the first time in these 7 long years.
Maan: see Mom… see she is still My Mishti.. I could never kill tat Mishti.. I could never Mom.. she kept my Mishti safe behind tat Geet Handa .. Mom.. my Mishti was always with me.. See Dad.. is she not your Doll.. is she not my Mishti Dad..
Maan smiled seeing her smiling while she just came and hugged him tight. The hug and the warmth which she was missing, just not coz she loved him but the friend whom she had missed for years.. a companion whom she waited to come back . The Maan who used to hear her out and read her eyes.
Geet: Maan…
Maan…. Was the word and the love which would soothe him but his heart did not let him to hug her back but she tightened her hold around him hugging him tight breaking down probably for the very first time in her life.
Geet: I hate you… I hate you Maan.. I hate you..
Maan: you can Mishti.. you can.. just hate me so tat I can love my Mishti back.
Geet : You don't love me Maan.. I know.. you love tat Sameera. I know..
Maan: I never Did Mishti.. I never did.. it was always my Mishti.. always my Mishti..
Geet broke the hug but still held him looking at his eyes probably after years. She had never seen his eyes fearing tat she would loose her self again but today she did and she was lost to see the pain.. lost to see tat her Maan did not have tat glow in his eyes.
Maan: will you forgive this Maan Singh Khuranna and help me to give back your Maan.. will you Mishti..
Geet : Only if he makes me to smile.. I want to smile Maan.. I want to smile seeing my Maan smile with me..
Maan had tears in his eyes while other who saw them could not thank god. It was always like this, they never hid their love in front of them but they did hid the most painful moments of their life. Raj smiled seeing his doll back and before he could even call her he was hugged tight by her.
Geet: dad.. I won dad.. I won.. I got my Maan back Dad.. Mishti.. is back Dad.. your Doll is back..
Raj: I know Doll.. I know..
Raj looked at Maan still not trusting him and Maan could see those questions in his eyes.
Maan: I promise dad.. I promise.. I will never hurt her Dad.. I will keep my Mishti happy even if I have to die and bear the pain Dad.. I will bring her out from all the pain.. will keep her safe with me Dad.. I wont let this smile fade Dad.. I wont let your Doll to part from her Maan.. Dad.. she will get back her Maan.. Dad.. she will get her love back.. she will…
Raj: You had promised me Maan… but you failed again to keep it.. but not anymore Maan.. not anymore.. I want you to fulfill tat promise with all love so tat she gets everything back.. she gets her Maan.. and Her Mehar back.. get her back Maan.. get her back..
Maan sat next to Raj wiping his tears with new zeal and strength.
Maan: I promise Dad.. I promise.. her Maan will get Back his Mishti and your doll back.. he will give her Mehar her Mumma dad.
Raj hugged his son and unknown to them there was their whole family looking at them. Vicky was shocked to see his Dad forgiving Maan but Dadima did understand tat Raj did know the truth. Shikha looked at Raj and Maan and smiled seeing them but Dadima could see tat she and Vicky still had their doubts as to why Raj was with Maan.
Dadima: He got back his son and son got back his Dad.. Vicky… its not a dream but the truth.
Vicky: Is it dadima.. why do you and Dad support him so much.. how can you both forgive him for wat he did.
Dadima: We never did forgive him Vicky.. but we now understood tat though he was wrong but he was not fully..
Vicky: wat do you mean Dadima..
Dadima: I mean tat if you really love Geet than help Maan to get her back.. help him not as Vicky Singh Khuranna or her best friend but help him as his brother who needs him. help him Vicky..
Vicky: How can i.. he is responsible for it.
Dadima: I told you Vicky he is not… and if you believe me than wait for the truth.. he will himself tell you Vicky.. you never did give him the chance but now give Vicky.. Give Maan his brother.. give him back Vicky.. and I know when you will know the truth you will blame yourself the way I did.. its destiny Vicky.. its their fate and they are bound to have this pain along with love..
Dadima left a confused Vicky and Shikha reaching to her son and grandson hugging them.
Raj: Maa.. I got him back Maa…. And I know he will get her back..
Dadima: He will Raj.. its time tat she comes back to us now.. come back to her Maan who has been dying each second and I know she will.. she will Maan..
