Do love stories like Zoya-Asad ever work?

I have a question for you guys, do love stories between 2 very different an headstrong individuals like Zoya and Asad ever work?
They say that opposites attract but in the long run don't they attack?
When people who have been brought up very differently, have different beliefs, value systems and lifestyles fall in love, don't they have adjustment issues just like ZandA are having now? And let's say, even if they fall in love owing to mutual attraction and respect, won't their differences always come between them? There's always going to be 2 different opinions on everything, from what to wear, what to eat, how to raise the kids, where to holiday, how to run the house, etc. People look for matches that have similar background, to avoid such issues.
Do you think such love stories make successful marriages in the long run? Or does the fire of attraction fizzle out with time?

PS this post is nt meant to offend anyone! Just in the spirit of having a discussion.

Opposites do attract. I should say I am experiencing it but whether it lasts or not doesn't depend on thisinstitution. It depends on whether or not you can imagine em as a part of your future. In this case, I think they'll struggle of course but know they're meant to be.

That's a really good answer and some great insight. But dont you think there has to be atleast one malleable person in a relationship. Cause if 2 stubborn people are together, neither compromises and things get bad. Stubbornness isn't a good quality to have in common.

I guess the question is, are they really that different from each other?

I am new to this forum out of curiosity since IPKKND got over, wanted to see 4Lions new show. But, then I saw ur post, and I couldn't help but reply. I have a doubt that they do actually work in the long run. I am sure in the short run everything feels happy and nice, since the couple is still in that phase of attraction and love, and their belief that they can make it work. If two people are that opposite, it ends up in a separation. I have known my friend's cousins a long time since childhood. Each of them married to a person so opposite, infact I was shocked at first how will their marriage work in the long run?! I had my doubts but one cannot actually say that on their face, as at that point of time one is so in love, that they think they would have a successful relationship. They all ended up in separation eventually, and after that point of time, you do become bitter about another relationship. So for now, they are single. Personally, it depends on those two people involved in the marriage. If such complete opposites do marry, one of them has to bent in the long run. If both of them are headstrong, and want to do things that they feel is right, that by no doubt ends up in a divorce or separation. When that actually happens, those two people do wonder, how the heck they got this far in the first place?! But yes, in a relationship, of complete opposites, one of them has to be sacrificing to have a successful long run marriage. I doubt though, b/c it take a lots of hard work, patience, and at times facing of losing one's own self respect and ideals. So, in my point from what I have seen and have known friends, who are that opposites like Asad and Zoya, it ends up in a divorce, sadly. B/c on the screen it looks good, but in real life it takes a 1000times more effort to make it work.
