Gaurav's the 'Sexy Sam'of television
Though 'good friend' Narayani Shastri is annoyed with his obsession with Amitabh Bachchan, Gaurav Chopraa says it's the ultimate compliment

Gaurav seems to be on a major high these days. His track on Aisa Des Hai Mera is a big hit with his female fans. The show though not doing too well in India has been rocking abroad. "I have been to South Africa recently and people there just love it. It is a show about NRI's returning to their roots and that's why Indians abroad can find a connect," explains Gaurav. His character in the serial is called Sam who has returned to India from Canada. Gaurav's slight accent matches his onscreen image perfectly. He has been getting fan mails from a lot of NRI girls gushing over his new sexy role.
Now, there is this one NRI girl in particular who is totally smitten by him as Sam and after Amitabh Bachchan's 'Sexy Sam' in Kabhie Alvida Naa Kehna, she wrote to Gaurav saying that he is the 'Sexy Sam' of the small screen. "To a diehard Amitabh fan, this is the ultimate compliment that one can give. I was truly happy to read it," says Gaurav. He may have fans all over the world but he can't get over his AB fixation. The name of his idol crops up in every conversation you have with the guy. In fact, Narayani finds this obsession with Amitabh Bachchan totally annoying.
The actor was recently spotted at the Star One's Nach Baliye 2 party, minus Narayani Shastri who is away in Dubai. He lightheartedly complained of spraining his shoulder while lifting a 'hrisht pusht' (well-fed) Narayani.
