"I'm quite a pushover!" says Malaika Arora-Khan and before one can twist that out of context, she explains that she's only talking about how she behaves when she's judging shows. The model-cum-anchorcum host, is going to be hosting Nach Baliye 2 on Star One again, after being one of the judges in the first season too. "The essence of the show is more candid this time and I know what is expected of me," she says.
Although it's usually seen that the judges on the competitive shows are a little rude to the contestants, NB had Farhan Akhtar, Saroj Khan and Malaika talking sweetly to them. Says Malaika, "I think Sarojji was brutally honest. She would praise the contestant to the skies and if she didn't like the performance, she would bring them down as well. Farhan used to get upset if the performance was bad and with me too, a bad performance would not go unnoticed." And now with Kunal Kohli replacing Farhan, does she think the chemistry would work with him? "I've only met Kunal socially but all of us are easy going people and I'm sure we will get along," she adds.
Malaika may have dabbled in a lot of mediums, but the viewers have not yet seen her acting in a daily soap on the small screen. "TV serials are not my cup of tea," she laughs, "I love hosting shows and anchoring shows, but I'm not inclined towards acting in a soap." Is it because she doesn't identify with them? "That too," she says, "The kind of shows I like watching are Sex and the City and the OC but I don't think such kind of shows are going to be hitting Indian television soon," she adds. Malaika says that she's very happy doing an an item song once in a while in Bollywood. "I love my song and dance routine in films," she adds with a smile.
Hubby Arbaaz Khan had recently been quoted that he wants to expand the family. Does Malaika have the same dreams too? "Well, that would definitely happen but not as of now. A baby girl would complete our family picture," she smiles.
