"The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy."
~ Yves Saint-Laurent

"It is easier to live through someone else than to complete yourself. The freedom to lead and plan your own life is frightening if you have never faced it before. It is frightening when a woman finally realizes that there is no answer to the question 'who am I' except the voice inside herself."
~ Betty Friedan

The episode starts where Friday's left off...

Nani & Anji are giving Khushi their blessings as she goes off to the first round of the Mrs. India contest. Arnav interrupts and drags Khushi away to his office. Khushi shows Arnav unnecessary attitude and Joru ka Ghulam stands back and takes it all in. He shows Khushi her own office and hands over a project to her. Khushi is delighted at Arnav's gesture but still wishes to do something all by herself.

Khushi arrives at the competition venue and starts to doubt herself, but she remembers everyone's words and proceeds. Khushi is asked to fill in an application form and gets nervous again when she sees all the other candidates. Khushi is 'greeted' by a candidate who pokes fun at her tikka (seriously where do CVs come up with this baqwas from?!). Another girl passes some sarcastic comments about Khushi's style, but finally someone who seems genuine says she likes Khushi's jhumke...The bitchy girls continue with their taunts but Amrita shuts them up by calling them 'darawani churails' ...but even she turns out to have a hidden (not so smart) agenda *sigh*

Arnav arrives home an enquires about Khushi's whereabouts, but the family can't get their stories straight. He finally gives up and leaves them too it... (Best scene in the epi)

Back at the competition, a lady informs the contestants that they each have to give a small introduction to the judges, Khushi gets nervous so Amrita gives her false hopes...

The judges are introduced:
1) Riya Sharma - looks like a stuck up cow, who loves a bit of attention ; India's top model? Really?
2) Mr Jai - ladies man, who in his own words is 'too cool' , Riya doesn't seem to like him and it looks like they have history

Khushi watches as each of the contestants go up and are ripped to shreds by Riya...Khushi contemplates giving up but waits her turn.

Khushi continues to worry and wishes Arnav was with her, and then...

Gust of wind, soft music, Rabba veee ; Arnav magically appears

Arnav & Khushi both sense each other and continue to play hide & seek, Khushi wonders if he actually is there

Khushi is finally called to audition...but Riya doesn't even let her finish.

I really hoped that they would give us some good moments in BS's so called last week but looks like the CVs have other plans...

A tribute to all the women of substance...

Pic Credit:Google

Women of different nations,of different religions, different creed... are similar in one way.. they have pride in themselves... a pride that translates into enjoying being women.. they may be discriminated against.. physically ,mentally or emotionally violated but they still get up from the dust to celebrate womanhood..Their love for how god has created them becomes their biggest strength...and I found Khushi Kumari Gupta of the past one and half year an embodiment of it... A girl who was comfortable in her skin.. who knew of her shortcomings but also prided in her uniqueness...who taught everyone to be themselves holding their head held high... I can never forget Khushi riding a bike in the first episode in her shiny eye popping wear..when she was reminded of it by a school going boy the girl smartly replied she was dressed as a princess because she was taking part in her school play... A girl who I instantly fell in love with because of her spirit.. of her clear understanding of life even in her naivety..

A girl who now has lost her way in the pursuit of glitz and glamour.. she again wants to become a woman of substance in case if we have forgotten she is one...
Are we heading for a recreation of vintage IPK again from the point where it all began... with gusts of wind...fashion show...ramp walk coming back...but this time not with nafrat but mohaabat...are we heading to a new start or an old end?

The forced search of Khushi to be Khushi continues... where she refuses her husband's honest try to help find her ground in his world of business... giving her freedom to manage a project to learn and do things in her own way...
He even offered his support to help her in the line of work of her choosing... to be politely refused again... I did not get the point of Mrs. India competiton after this...😳 A husband who entertains naye soch for helping his woman should be given his acknowledgemnet by the loving wife too... This is what happens in Asli Duniya and in lot of Sapno ki Duniya where women are denied of such progressive out look by their better half in real life...😊

Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.

JANE AUSTEN

~00~

If you see any thing in yourself which may make you proud, look a little further, and you will find enough to make you humble.

CALCOTT

Contrary to popular opinion on IF, I liked the episode, it was not great by any means, but it is not as bad as we are made to believe.

I think this tract will show the female lead that she should be comfortable and proud of her own clothing (I don't mean the tents) and in being herself.

She should take pride in maintaining and continuing to wear her Indian outfits, not becoming too westernized just to suit others, but rather, staying true to herself, her culture and her beliefs, her heritage.

She should be able to find the BALANCE.

I would be proud if at the end of this track this happens. (without the death of ASR, of course)

Most urgently, women's identity must be premised upon our "beauty" so that we will remain vulnerable to outside approval, carrying the vital sensitive organ of self-esteem exposed to the air

HUM KHUSHI KUMARI GUPTA HAIN...HUM LUCKNOW SE HAIN...AUR HUM SAB JAANTE HAIN!!!

HUM RES KARNA BHI JAANTE HAIN,ARNAVJI!!!😆

Episode was not that bad, there were some scenes which reminded me of why I love this show. For example, the first scene where Arnav surprises Khushi and she kisses him on the cheek, I loved that! The comfort level between them, the fact this comes natural for her is just great to see.
Another scene I liked was the family covering for Khushi, it is so rare on TV to see a family so supportive of the bahu normally other shows are full of backstabbers and negative characters plotting from within the family but here its different.
Didn't care much for Khushi with the contestants, felt it was too long and the timing could've been used to show more of the cast instead.
Last scene, I adored! I have missed these two feeling each other's presence. It is something I have always loved about their pairing and good to see CVs have not forgotten one of the things that is vintage IPK.
Backstage drama is making my head spin! I just wish SP would come out with something official already, put an end to contradicting reports which put further damage to this show.

Well what to say of the current track. Less said the better. I am surprised at the CV's who come up with this stupid story line. I mean a wife of a fashion industry business tycoon wants to participate in a beauty pageant and the family lest her. What about their reputation and also of ASR.

She also does not mention hervhusband's name in her introduction where she introduces herself as KKG and KKGSR . A husband who has gone and changed so much for KKG and she is being so insensitive towards his feelings. Arnav felt that his wife does not want to work under him , that's why he craetd a separate office and a new project to be handled independently by Khushi with help from him if required. He also asked he rif she is not comfortable with this he will help her in what ever she is planning to do .

Why is Khushi hell bent on ridiculing herself along with Arnav . We are now seeing glimpses of vintage IPK with the gust of wind, angry ASR and old Rabba Vey. What is left now is the pushing and pulling. IPK has seriously put me off from past few days , I am sticking only because of Barun .

The day its his last episode so will be mine as Now I can understand him leaving the show as his character has completely been ruined with no scope of any growth . The ASR we know of has died long time back what w esee now is a reformed SP dikra who does things only for his wife's happiness , with a wife who is insensitive to his feelings.

Gosh what ha sIPK come to . Last year around this time we had the beginning of the Farq Padta Hai Tracks and such fantastic episodes, how I miss those days .

Koel, as I have already said beautifully written. To tell you the truth I did not catch the whole episode, reading LU and what little I saw, I will give my opinion.

Who dont have to become a woman of Substance by participating in Mrs.India contest. You can use your brains , confidence and become a leading entrepreneur by doing what you know best. Cooking is her forte and she could become self sufficient and confident by running a catering business.

Another point is that Kushi goes to a Mrs. India contest. All the contestants are introducing themselves with their married names. Kushi who goes by the name KKGSR all the time day in and out went by the name KKG. It is very wierd and confusing.

Both feel the gush of air, but after sometime only Kushi feels it and not Arnav. What are they trying to portray to us?

This is my honest to God and Un biased opinion.
