I don't understand why Rusty is hiding the truth from her family? What will she gain by this??? Is it worth it on Rusty's part to take all the pressure from Samay and accept his proposal instead of taking her dad into confidence and telling him about Samay? She could have told Randhir about the tape and they could have worked out something...
Ok, here's my take on it:
Rusty wants or is trying to prove that she can be Randhir's ideal daughter. I don't think Rusty should take all this pressure and hide the truth especially since she is going to destroy her future. Is sacrificing her future really worth it? I guess she is doing a good deed, but if she had discussed this with Randhir, at least they could have found a solution to this problem. Instead, she is hiding this and making things even more complicated. Eventually by doing this, she will make her family even more guilty when they find this out after!!!
I agree with you... She should realize that doing this would actually really hurt her father, especially when he finds out that his daughter destroyed her future for the sake of her family... In a way, she is breaking her family's trust...
What would you do if you were in her position? Would you not tell your family about it? Or would you be willing to take your dad's hatred???
Yes, I would definitely tell this to my family. I would first keep it to myself and then would wonder if it is really worth hiding it from my family. I would not be willing to take my dad's hatred.
& what about Randhir??? Is he justified in hating Rusty like this???
Yes ofcourse ever since she told him that she has no feelings for Samay. How could she turn her back on him and marry Samay, who destroyed her family and the empire?
I don't agree here... His reaction towards her is not justified... A father can break all relations with his daughter but can never hate her... This is how I feel... He can at least stop going around telling people that Rusty is dead for him...
Are the show writers potraying a genuine father-daughter relation??? Is this how it is in real life???
It is partly real. The father-daughter relationship is genuinely portrayed and shows the complication in their relationship. However, not all daughters are as 'IDEAL' as Rusty! I do agree that they make some sacrifices, but Rusty is continuously making sacrifices for her family!
I don't think any daughter would be as ideal as Rusty... 😆
Great discussion Maha. I loved answering the questions :D
I loved reading your responses, they were great!...
