| TV's eternal Bhabhi, Rucha Gujrathi, is facing a dilemma — to choose between a husband who has betrayed her, or a lover who is her husband's cousin? Caught at the crossroads, Rucha talks about what makes Suhana, the ultimate Bhabhi
The battle is on between being Bhabhi and Suhana for your character. That's an eternal dilemma. As Suhana, she feels that she should do what her heart says, but as the Bhabhi of the family, she has to put everyone else before her. Bhabhi lives for others. She is that quintessential, self-sacrificing woman.
Bhabhi's husband, Vishwa (Puneet Sachdev) has betrayed her for another woman. He has gone off the scene to Kanpur. Ever since he got involved with another woman, he left the house. Despite the personal turmoil, Bhabhi continues to live with the family and cares for them.
So in his absence, Bhabhi gets attracted to Nihal (Inderjeet Sundan)? Nihal is Vishwa's cousin. He has always been there for Suhana. There is this unspoken bond between them. Gradually, feelings develop between each other. But when the time comes to take a call, there comes another dilemma in Bhabhi's life.
Yet another dilemma? Just when Suhana feels that she should go with Nihal, Vishwa re-enters her life. So obviously it is an important decision to make. Nihal is Vishwa's cousin, so that makes me his bhabhi. They say bhabhi maa samman hoti hai, so obviously I can't be with Nihal. Even though he is willing to wait for her.
Vishv or Nihal? Everyone knows whom Bhabhi will be with. She is the epitome of sacrifice, so it has to be Vishv.
In real life would such a scenario exist? There are many Vishwas and Suhanas and Nihals. But as we are rooted in tradition, you know who Suhana has to accept. It has to be Vishv, he is her hubby after all. As told to Shaheen Parkar https://www.mid-day.com/hitlist/2006/september/143882.htm |
