why do we worry so much about being politically correct all the time? Does being politically correct mean we are subjugating our true opinions as wrong, because it does not suit the outside world?

I'm not the most politically correct person...And I end up hurting people's sentiments

If one's politically incorrect, one is blatently honest, and calls a spade a spade....This now can hurt people, especially those who choose to see the world through a rose tinted glass

People seldom like to face the reality,People love to live in a fool's paradise

So the answer to your question..why be politically correct.....So that we dont hurt people who cant take even an ounce of reality 😛....We need to play to the gallery,we neeed to be diplomatic....In this world,We need the society(90% of which is judgmental , prejudiced, and hypocritical)...The politically correct whited sepulchers are the most venerated ones..Sad,but true

i hate being politically correct...and i totally agree with buffie here..... it is becoz not to hurt ppl...becoz people can't digest bluntness... i like being blunt and i am in reality... but then too many offences and things like "U always have certain opinion abt things!" ...Why shouldn't i give my straight forward opinions! but then i learnt that there is a way of presenting an opinion... just learning how to do that in a polite manner 😳

i agree with everything you said buffie 👏👏, being politically correct is trying not to offend anyone, but should you really repress your strong opinions just because it might injure someone emotionally?😕

I personally think i wouldnt. I am usually politically correct because those are my real views, but if someone asked me about other certain subjects then i am sure to offend a lot of people with my views. Am i sorry that i hurt their feelings?😭 yes . But i would never apologize for my views, because debate mansion asks for opinion and not a politically correct answer.

agree with you to, its hard being politically correct. And ofcourse there are some comments that you should definetely keep to yourself in certain situations and try to be politically correct.

and i definetely agree with your presentation point, there is a way to get your point across, and doing minimal damage. This is what i was trying to say, i dont want people to be blatant, but they should give their honest opinions.

Such as "honey, does this make me look fat?" and it does.

Reply "that dress is too sexy, you'll look like my daughter, i dont want the other guys asking me for your hand, please go put something else on or i'm going to be mad " 😛

Depending on the situation we need to respond!!

Displaying our astitva, our non-hypocritic nature is not necessary all the times! So in that process we may try to be politically correct!!

Hurting others should'nt our primary itention. We live in a society and we need to consider the feelings of others also!!

Cheers,

Mythili

When you are right, you cannot be too radical; when you are wrong you cannot be too conservative.

Sensitivity is much bigger when it is about ourselves but not quiet the same when it is other's IMO.

👏

Exactly! Often times, people who do not take criticism well at all, will be caught hurting others. IMO, when they do it over and over again, it is okay to step out of our miss goody two shoes of "politically correct" debator and give them a taste of their own medicine.
It may not be prudent / excellent debate-skill, but is EFFICIENT none the less. (no dirty word usage 🤢 though, as for such people ignoring them is the real medicine)
Freedom was not sought by being PC. Most fights for rights don't remain politically correct. Life is not always politically correct. So I don't take it to an extreme, since that is not who I want to be! but I do like staying in LIMITS none the less and being politically correct in terms of not being judgemental / name-calling and the FIRST one to hurt 😃

Oodles of wisdom in few words 👏 I had a hard time grasping what you are saying 😳 I hope nobody doubts my IQ 😆 😉
