So...week 2 of Qubool Hai is almost over and we've gotten a little insight into the Khan families, and the cause of the rift between them.
The main link between the 2 families is of course Rashid Khan. A man who for whatever reasons...and on the surface it seems that they were financial...chose to abandon his first wife and kids for the second one.
However...as the episodes progressed we see that he isn't a mean person at heart. That his heart aches for the injustice he had done to Dilshad, Asad and Najma. That he had secretly kept tabs on them. That, once the family ties were broken, he probably didn't know how to fix them. And that the final decision to choose Shirin over Dilshaad was his mother's.
I am not excusing Rashid Khan's behavior by any means. He was married and got involved with another woman, Plus it's not like he was an 18 or 21 year old who could be chided or coerced by his mother into making a wrong decision. He was an adult, a father of several children...he should have known better.
But still...I wonder if Asad did the right thing by deleting his father's phone message?
I know he was just trying to save his mother some grief. But some where...his underlying hatred for his father also influenced his decision.
Was he right? Should it not have been his mother's prerogative to decide if she wanted to reestablish communication or a relationship with Rashid?
