A day had passed from the party, and now it was time to move into Arnav's apartment across the street from the Stock Exchange. Khushi was both excited and yet nervous. She had always wanted to live in THE Manhattan! The city of lights! She would shop all day, and roam around. She could write her stories sitting on a bench with her green tea in Central Park. She could have her maids do all the work, and just relax all day! She wouldn't have to carry the extra burden of her family. But, what would it be like to live as someone's wife? Especially that someone being a stranger, who she had met merely three days ago? Such questions browsed her mind, as she packed her bags yet again to leave the hotel.
Arnav was in a similar situation. He was now a husband. They were now going to move in. living together. What was expected of him? He knew that this marriage would only last a month, but inside, he wanted to shower Khushi with all the happiness and love that she had been deprived of all so long. But he wasn't the guy she wanted. She wanted someone who would love and adore her. He wasn't the adoring type. He would never cheat on her, but he would have his own style of showing his love, which only his true lady love would be able to understand and treasure. Was he even entitled to a lady love? He quietly packed his bags and walked into the foyer, waiting for Khushi.
Arnav and Khushi left the hotel, dressed and acting as a couple. Khushi wore a body-hugging royal blue dress, while Arnav sported a rather casual look inhis Aviator glares. Khushi had curled her hair, and the looked like a truly royal couple. They stepped out of the hotel, to be bombarded by the press. Cameras flashed, and microphones were held into their faces. Khushi was scared; this was her first close encounter with the public after their marriage and reception. Arnav noticed this. As a dutiful husband, he put an arm around her and led her through the pandemonium. As they walked, Khushi looked up at Arnav with thoughtful and grateful eyes.
The two entered their luxurious sedan that was waiting for them. The chauffeur held open the door, and Arnav helped Khushi in like a true gentleman. He gave a smile and quick wave to the crowd as they drove away. He then smirked at Khushi, who was now rather serious. He put his hand on hers, and leaned into her, saying, "Sweetie, don't worry. You'll get used to it." She looked up and said, "Probably after a month-" Arnav interrupted her and kissed her onto the lips yet again for the third time. Khushi couldn't lie, that she wanted this. She had still not forgotten their last luscious kiss. After a minute, they both ceremonially licked their lips. Khushi gave a questioning look at Arnav, who then gave a signaling look to the giggling chauffeur. She nodded, and smiled as she looked out the window.
After Arnav and Khushi reached their apartment building, the chauffeur was ordered to bring up their bags, as Khushi and Arnav would make their way upstairs. Once again, they dodged the press by taking the stairs. The stairs were steep, and Khushi got tired quickly in her six-inch heels. She sighed, and asked, "How far up?" Arnav smiled, "The sixth floor." Khushi was in shock, when he tripped and twisted her ankle, screaming, "Owww!" Arnav turned around, to see Khushi on the floor, her hand on the now red and swollen ankle. Arnav looked concerned, "Are you okay? Can you walk?" Khushi got frustrated, "Does it look like it?" She rolled her eyes.
Arnav shook his head, and picked up Khushi. He gripped her waist softly, yet still firm. She held his collar, and took notice of his chocolate eyes. They were so deep that she immediately delved into them. Arnav took notice of her warm, soft hands and her small, red nose. Her hair was long, and tickled his arm, which was right below her curls. His cold hands on Khushi's bare thighs made Khushi shiver in secret pleasure. The next moment she was conscious of the world, she was on a soft bed in a spacious apartment. It was warm, and Arnav gently placed her on the bed, and then caressed her ankle. "Does it hurt?" He asked, slightly turning it with his strong hands. He looked to her with thoughtful eyes, as Khushi winced in pain. He then got her ice, and laid the ankle on a bed of ice. Giving her a painkiller, Arnav closed the bedroom door as Khushi fell into a peaceful slumber with blissful dreams of their life together.
The next day Khushi awoke, and started to panic. Arnav was nowhere to be seen. She got out her iPhone, and quickly dialed Arnav. He picked up, "Hello, dear wifey." He smirked, as Khushi giggled on the other side. "How's your ankle?" "Its better, and where are you?" Khushi replied, getting herself a bowl of cereal. "Sweetie, I'm at work. I'll be home early today, wanna go out to dinner? To your favorite restaurant, Marea?" He closed his eyes, secretly praying that it was her favorite. "How did you know?" Khushi asked. Arnav opened his eyes in relief, as he looked to his best friend who was intently enjoying this marital conversation. "I'm your hubby, and I know stuff. So be ready by 6, and I'll pick you up." Khushi smiled. She hung up, as she thought about how she had played along and had never actually even been to Marea. She laughed, "This is fun." She thought, as she ate a spoonful of cereal.
