Hey! My name's Zainab.

Just started watching the serial and I've made a few observations. A couple things which if are in the future storyline, then I sincerely hope they've put a majority of effort, thought and work into:

1) Polygamy - I don't know how they'd do justice though...It's easy to pass a black or white judgement. Hard to do a commendable job to an actual life issue. Believe it or not, polygamy works for some and for others it doesn't. To each his own. It depends on the person. If they are planning on delving into this - I hope they've done their research.

2) Mindsets - Clash of east vs. west...the jeans thing for example🥱 - I just hope its not overdone - Asad was right about one thing. Clothes don't make you modern. Living in Toronto, I know many girls that wear niqab happily - it's their choice. Majority of them don't come from a religious background. I've never understood and perhaps never will - the need Indian serials have to prove that for a person to be modern they have to be western. Otherwise, you're regressive. This type of thinking is regressive and needs to change.

3) Maulanas, Mufti's, Apas etc - Qualified Islamic scholars - If they are represented in the show, I'm hoping they'll avoid stereotypes. They're quite cool in real life. It's rather unfair to them I find.

4) Mazaars and sufi music - Please do your research on Islam. Just because something is associated with the so called followers of a certain religion - doesn't mean its a part of that religion.

To all the people that have taken out their time to read my post, thank you. I have a word of advice which I hope you will take to heart - this serial doesn't represent Islam, although it attempts to represent a Muslim family. In which case it's representing the culture of the Indian Subcontinent. Please understand that there is a world of difference between the two. Not every Muslim practices Islam properly - the same can be said for the characters of this serial. You can take this drama two ways. One is to treat it as a drama and forget about it. Another is to care about the social issues it represents and take an interest in it. If you fall into the second category - get in touch with a real Islamic scholar who can answer your questions. Not every tom and harry is qualified. Even if they're Muslim.

I am taking it as a drama for entertainment purpose 😊
i dont have too much knowlege about muslim culture . But people like Asad and restrictions do exists in every culture . They r not actually portraying muslim culture regoriously as said 4lions but they have definately extracted few norms and practises of culture to made this Drama .
If everything character is perfect from the start of the story then how will story go ahead. :D

Thanks 😊 I know the characters can't be perfect - I just hope other people understand this and stop associating it with a religion. The amount of posts on Asad and his mentality for example - if you really think about it, he's a typical Indian guy. His mentality has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with the culture he's been brought up in. Look at other dramas. How different is Asad from other main leads? And yet, the amount of posts on this topic...

We can hope 😆. As for the show itself, I'm giving it a chance - hopefully it'll live up to expectations. If they do handle controversial issues in a responsible manner it'd be amazing as there would be actual meat to the storyline. Not to mention, a first for Indian tv serials. If they choose to follow stereotypes however - the show will just lose its charm for me.

If you read my post, I suggest you read it once more. You've entirely missed my point.

Nah they will concentrate on family drama more than social issues 😊

but yeah sometimes sayed social message de

If they plan on sticking to family drama - then I think they've already got me hooked 👏 I'm loving the characterization and the relationship dynamics they've shown. I'm a sucker for entertainment - so in that case will just take this for entertainment purposes. I made this topic primarily because if they do plan on giving a social message - it has to be in a responsible manner and this forum needs to differentiate between a show and reality. Other than that though - the journey of Asad, Ayaan and Zoya is something I'd very much like to see⭐️
