Hey everybody.
I discovered dil mil gaye over the summers this year and was amazed by how KSG can portray emotional scenes so brilliantly. He's definitely hot and all, but despite his looks, his ability to be so emotional on screen is, according to me, his USP. I loved his interactions with the little kids, he had fabulous comedy timing also.
Now, this show is not only sooo different from DMG, i think asad as a character is VERY different from KSG. KSG probabaly hasn't been brought up in a conservative household and i don't think he might have ever had to shoulder the responsibility of an entire family and be the MAN of the house. Plus, I dont think Karan would himself ever watch such a melodramatic series. Thats the thing baout Tv actors in India, they need to be SO involved and almost live a life of these characters they would have otherwise been pretty detached towards. I guess, thats the biggest challenge for most of them. To not be awkward is these slight over the top melodramatic scenes, which yesterday's episode had PLENTY of.
I'm a sucker for indian shows. I complain, get irritated but I still end up watching them, especially the ones with hot guys 😛 SO obviously, there was no reason to not watch this show. Plus, I'm a muslim and I'm really tired of our stereotypical image in indian shows. I've lived in Pakistan and my urdu isnt as good as any of the characters. But somehow, despite of its highly generic perspective, I'll watch the show again tonight.
why?
- zoya is fantastic. The girl playing it suits the role. Watched some snippets of a press conference, wasnt all crazy about her but she works for the show. And zoya-asad will be a sure shot treat.
- Ayaan, despite, his flowery language and the random outbreak into dance, will have an awesomsauce bromance with asad. Loved some of the scenes in the promo with asad hitting him on the head slightly.
- The sisters will bring out the protective bit of asad. Looking forward to seeing KSG in such a mature avatar.
- Asad despite his random outbreak into the song, (btw, really conservative muslims dont appreciate music 😛), is a fabulously layered character. He loves everybody, is a pillar of support for everyone but no one fathered him, bechara.
Anywho, please write back with what you look forward to the most. And when exactly does the show air so I can catch it online soon after. 😃
Cheers. xx
