Dear CVs,

I have always been a very proud viewer of Balika Vadhu, right from episode 1. Proud because yours was the only show which actually stuck to the story line right from the start...proud because you never gave in to the TRP game...proud because you had the courage to break away from streotypical over-the-top characters and showed REAL people, who were both good & bad. I have seen many Balaji shows with passion, but Balika Vadhu was the only show I openly accepted that I saw.

From the beginning you have excelled in each department - whether it was casting, scripting, directing - everything. You tackled various issues related to Bal Vivah and made us aware of so many important things which we may have never known, had it not been for you esp the law about the legality of bal vivah and the rights of the children involved. All your characters somewhere had some good in them - Basant, Dadisa, Gauri, Jagya - no one was a villain in the true sense of the word. They were all human being like us who had their own faults but also had good in them. There was a clear-cut path of redemption marked out for each and you had always shown people reforming for the better be it Basant or Dadisa or even Mahavir Singh. Somewhere we could identify with all your characters...we could empathise with them, emote with them!

When Anjum Farooqi left the show because of her marriage, I was sure that you will replace her with some other actress since you were never the ones who would leave issues vague & without closing the loop. But for the first time you proved me wrong. Not only was Anjum not replaced, there was no satisfactory explanation for Gauri's sudden & complete absence from the show.
That also would have been fine if you had not suddenly & brutally massacred the characters of Jagya , Dadisa and also Basant & Gehna.

You showed that Jagya, realizes all his errors just a few episodes earlier and vows to do 'prayashchit' for all his mistakes. So he comes back to Jaitsar only to realise that even his beloved Dadisa & Anandi are unwilling to forgive him for what he has done. After such good intentions, it took only one rejection from Anandi to transport Jagya to the proverbial dark side. In just one episode, Jagya underwent the transformation from a selfish, self-centered, shallow, weak, but still essential having some good in him to a character so dark that he has no scope for ever coming back home.

Dadisa - arguably the strongest character on television in many many years - has been reduced to a caricature and a miserable shadow of her previous self. Yes, she always loved Jagya more than the world. But she had been shown to change after seeing the hell her beloved grandson had put Anandi thru. The lecture Dadisa gives him in the hospital made us feel proud of BV writers again, where she tells him that she can forgive him for what he has done to the family but she cannot forgive him for he did with Anandi. One can understand her eagerness to believe that Jagya has improved and wanting him back. So far so good. But why make her want Anandi to accpet him back in her life? Where has all the love & concern for Anandi vanished? It got washed away in a few tears of Jagya? Dadisa was never so weak and she always stood by her word & honour - no matter what. This is not the Dadisa you had scripted at the start.

Coming to Basant & Gehna - Is this the same Gehna who was shown slapping her son coz he met his Jagdish Bhaisa? Where is the Gehna who was always ANandi's coulsellor & inspiration? Basant wanted to throw Jagya out coz he had sold his grandfather's locket, but now he is willing to accept him back? Just because Jagya saved Nandu?

My grievance is not abt these fictional characters or abt wanting AnSh together. My problem is the message which will eventually get conveyed thru your show. Balika Vadhu is not any run-of-the-mill show which is abt love & its problems. NO - Balika Vadhu is, rather was, a very sincere attempt to get across a strong message & effect a social change. And you were succeeding as well. By introducing Shiv & his family you showed that there are progressive people as well. When the Singh family decides to get Anandi remarried, it gave hope to many parents that not all girls get unjust in-laws. But from the track which is been shown for the past month or so, you have destroyed all that you had ever built.

What are you people trying to prove? That at the end of the nothing matters more than your own son? That ultimately blood turns out to be thicker than water? That in-laws, no matter how good, will care for the DIL, but only till the son returns?

Please don't do this. Don't spoil the message which was slowly but surely reaching the masses in the interiors of the country. Television is a very strong medium and you have used it very wisely till now. Please act responsibly and give the correct message.

Otherwise please wrap up the show and leave us with fond memories

Very well said,Manasi. The show has fallen down so much that I sometimes wonder if I am watching the same show. And yes,it is the fond memories that keep pushing me to watch this show.

No one changes so much and not so frequently. Had it been a teenage love story then we could have excused this with the presumption that this is an age where good and bad lose their meaning. But, the grandmother behaving in such a manner is difficult to accept.

Very well said Manasi, cvs should not forget that out there there is a much more gullible and socially not so aware audience watching it. And they can give a social message to them through this which they have been trying to do. For the sake of TRPs and stupid drama and story they are butchering it further.

Yes Manasi, so well put. Look at much 'retreats' in many reformed. Or suffocating 'greatness' of a chosen few- equally tiresome. One subterfuge fall and what is here? Like a black hole ( isn't he?!) distorting fabric of its surrounding space, others are falling here like dummies! 😆

very well written Manasi...agree with you completely .. I have been watching BV regularly for a long time And I was quite impressed by the progressive and realistic storyline. But now i have stopped watching it because i cannot understand one thing in this mess
The current track starting from Jagaya's negative track after making him realize his mistakes to recent messing with Dadisaa's character after showing her so much improved from her previous self .has been very disappointing.

But like you even i am not grieving about only characters here but my concern is the story of the serial which has been shuffled up very badly Everything is toppled over for what ?What about your social message? .These characters are too projecting something When they can improve and they have shown improvement then why throw them down again ?Show them moving ahead with their improvement so people can actually learn something from them But no ..I don't understand why CVs ruined something so good by experimenting?. whatever reason they have this really is senseless , so wrong and unfair with the story of this show , its theme and to top it all this show provides social message with each of its episode so such a mess of all these morals?

Balika Vadhu's story has become so senseless these days according to what Cvs were showing before .There is no coherence, consistency in anything .They first need to see what their is story about ,what is its central idea, what they are trying to prove through it .how they progressed it in four long years then bring new twists and turns and progress the story accordingly but sadly they are ignoring everything in an attempt to bring in extremely used up nonsense twists and turns in Indian serials which were not at all required in BV now but Cvs are forcing them into it thus ruining their own consistency of story , their own progressive story , ruining their own characters and the worst is they are pushing these new wrong traits in their characters which were never present in them before and throwing them down again after showing them going through a continuous process of change and improvement from their previous selves. This they did with both Jagaya and Dadisaa leaving them both in a very poor way in the shadow of their previous selves with new traits in them not good but bad ones

I have no doubt that they will find ways to mend this nonsense but this dent will always remain The ways they will bring will be like this that will make viewers say this could happen in a much better way without the nonsense they are showing currently. All this track could have been handled in a much better way than it is being dealt with but sadly they messed up with everything. This is called throwing axe on your feet
If they really want to give morals, then they should show more positive things, and they should be serious and careful with story and their characters but they are not .If they have no more ideas left to take their show ( which i think there are many good ideas but they are having blind eyes towards them ) they can wrap it up on a good note instead of burying it in grave but i know this is not going to happen ..Very much disappointed from this serial's creative team

with the red part i will say they have shown him saying and accepting in mandir he knows forgiveness is not easy for him he don't have courage to come in front of his family but his heart says his dear ones will forgive him this is slight hope in his heart and he will keep trying for forgiveness .he knew very well forgiveness is not easy for him

Manasi, I support your views as thunderously as possible and applaud the fact that you got yourself to say so. The problem is a lot of viewers like to believe nice things like everything bad was dream, last Friday evening I wrote a post saying DS promo was not a dream, but so many replies came that it was. Someone even said Bhairon had a dream, Jagya had a dream, DS had a dream, to which I said something about karelas do not dream. But the truth came out today, DS did say what we thought she would do.
As for Gehna, Basant, they are cartoons, DS has become a real caricature, may be she is even embarrassed that her once strong character has been brought down to a scheming evil thugee woman. Sugana and her husband have disappeared and Sumitra too. Left is the resurrection of Gauri. So depressing.
The show has become rotten. Sorry BV lovers, I am stating a fact and there seem to be others who agree.

Very well said Mansi...The CVs are going towards negative track, just so to create more drama and tension, forgetting the real message and essence of the story...Jagya track was just out of character as well and above that, the head ache of Bansant's drama...Everything forgotten in mattter of days and all ready to tie the knot with the same person, who had cheated and abused Anandi for years...God, how can people change so fast, just overnight, just by seeing tears of their loved ones...Do others feeling don't matter at all...? They are just torturing us by doing all this negative drama...
They have almost ruined the show with Jagya's entry and forgetting about Gauri completely...Why anyone did not even raise voice that Anandi is not Jagya's wife, but Gauri is? Not even Anandi...She should have reminded Dadisa that Gauri is still his wife...! And how can she ask her to do the same what she had done...?
Cvs are totally getting this all out of hand...!
