The importance of Anandi's promise to Bhago

At the time of Bhago's death scenes, I was wondering why they are showing such a depressive track. Bhago's last speech to Anandi was not convincing or motivating. She didn't reason with Anandi for second marriage neither did she ask details about Shiv and his family. She just got a promise from Anandi that A will marry Shiv.

Even without Bhago's death, Ansh marriage talks might have happened and would have proceeded. Bhago might have to talk to Anandi and makes her understand the value of second marriage. Or Anandi herself would have fallen in love with Shiv.

But then at some point DS and family emotionally blackmails Anandi, Anandi will be forced to opt out of the marriage. Most of us in this forum like to see a very independent and strong Anandi, who cares a damn for DS's emotional blackmail and go ahead with Ansh marriage. But there may be a segment of viewers who cannot digest the fact that a woman can rise to position with the help of her in-laws and become famous and then do not honor the decision of head of the family (DS). To satisfy all the viewers, we have Bhago's death wish. Bhago is no more. She cannot comeback and changes her death wish. Anyway Anandi will never have any doubt regarding her marriage with Shiv. But Bhago's wish is a very solid weapon for Anandi to defeat all the problems and also it will allow her to save her grace in front of everybody involved. No matter, how hard DS press, Anandi will refuse and DS cannot find a problem with Anandi since it is Anandi's promise to her dead mother.

The story would have progressed to this level, even if Bhago was alive. So I think the purpose of Anandi's promise to Bhago, is to give her enough ammunition to sail through difficult terrains.Probably we will see lots of twists coming up in future episodes, where Bhago's death wish plays a crucial role in shaping the story. And CVs satisfying a larger percentage of viewers.

It is 'NOW or NEVER' for Anandi. How DS or Anandi could ever think it is possible for a JAAN reunion, is beyond me... This is the time for Anandi to finally put her foot down and not be treated like a doormat...the precap was quite ridiculous...has DS forgotten that she was the one who initiated Anandis and Shivs marraige and made sure that no other girl married Shiv, so that Anandi could? Jago Anandi...tell DS to STOP and for once go with your heart and livr for yourself...marry Shiv!!!

Yup, Bhago's dying wish is definitely something that Anandi will never forget. And now we have the CM's interest in AnSh marriage too. So DS and Basant will be cornered and unable to break the sagaii. What evil tricks Jagia will resort to - remains to be seen and of course the Jaitser railway project fiasco!

May I say something please? I have followed BV from about 2 years, missed out the beginning. To me Dadisa's character has always been on the border line, have you ever considered how Jagya, son of delightfully principled father and mother, turned out to be such a villainous character? The genes are that of Dadisa who is intrinsically a bad person, but hides her real self under this "Ma sa" avatar. Like we say in England, she is a "bad egg".
I have no fears that Anandi will stand up and do the right thing, question is Dadisa is such a plotter and manipulator that one does not know.

Naah DS is not a bad egg , just an emotional conservative old fashioned traditional woman at heart. She became progressive after seeing how her own grandson treated anandi. She wanted to do right by her so she encouraged her education and remarriage. What u r seeing i am sure is jagya dreaming. No way will the CVs take the track in this direction. Just a teaser for us to sweat till Monday.

hmmm i agree with the TM. I myself would have liked it if Anandi had married Shiv for herself and not for anyone else... But yeah, Anandi is such a tightly wound character that most ppl would have been unable to digest her transformation from a selfless girl who doesnt think of herself to a really really nice girl who thinks of herself too! that's how normal ppl are na but in indian tv shows, women are shown to be so idealistic that Anandi cannot behave in any other way... but i feel that this could be the turning point... she is bound to defy DS's 'take back Jagya' offer...! Also i feel Bhago's death was just an easy way for the CVs to force AnSh marriage fast as they must have felt the viewers would love the drama (obviously logical viewers like us have no value!)... Regardless, if Bhago's death had not happened even then i dont think Anandi would have accepted Shiv on her own... Its crazy really but i dont see Anandi ever falling in love like Asha or anyone... She's the kind of person who always needs a push. 😊

PS. this is quite unrelated but have u noticed how in tv shows whenever a girl is progresing its never on her own. Like she'll never take a stand n say- i wanna do this , i'm right n i'll succeed.
We see male characters rebelling all the time, but their female counterparts will crush their dreams. Then there will a father/family/friend/husband who will support the girl n only then she'll stand on her feet... what are such tv shows trying to prove? That women have dreams but no guts to accomplish them without support?

Tell me, even in BV, would the CVs have been brave enough to show Anandi defying Ds for her education/career if she had not gotten family support? No!!! but did they show Jagya do the same? yes!! 😡 women will stifle her dream n the CVs will tell u that this is coz women are so nice n they dont wanna hurt anyone... but about themselves..? dont women matter on their own? what's wrong with defying someone for something that is right n doesn't harm anyone? gosh i'm really ranting...

Very nicely put. But that is true in Indian families, no? The woman is never supposed to have a clear opinion, never can defy even if she feels she is right. You will be surprised if I tell you a second generation Marwari family in London has 2 children, a son and a daughter, daughter is clearly the cleverer of the two. Son wanted to go to the USA and went, daughter wanted to go and was told no, she cried and protested, it wasstill no, she was married off to wealthy Marwari business familiy boy last month in Jaipur, end of career for young lady.
Makes you disgusted, but somehow our Indian genes have trained us to accept all this.

brick_red, agree with you. I do believe Anandi is a strong woman - but yes, Bhago's dying wish is a great weapon for her, should she need to use it. Really nice post.
