Two Updates from Box Office India on SOTY:

Student Of The Year Opens Well Oh! My God Excellent Third Week

Student Of the Year opened well on day one with a 50% opening. The collections at multiplexes were better while single screens were lower. The film will need to show good growth on Saturday as its a big budget film and although the opening is good as per the cast and face value of the film its not so great against the budget. The film has mixed reports.

Student Of The Year First Day Business

Student Of the Year of the year collected around 7.50-7.75 crore nett on day one as per early estimates. The film collected well at multiplexes in the big cities with single screen business being average even though it was a limited single screen release.

The film was best in the Delhi city region with collections in Delhi city being around 85 lakhs. Its a decent first day total but will need good growth on Saturday to come out with a decent weekend as its a big budget film.

The collections at multiplexes were good at places while other multiplexes were fair. A minimum 20% is a must for Saturday if the film is to go on do good business in the long term.

Seems like my opening day predictions were almost correct! 😊

I can't wait to do predictions for JTHJ and SOS! Both movies are so huge and I know a lot of people will be reading my predictions for them because of how huge the 2 films are 😊

I was supposed to do predictions for this week's 3 films yesterday, but due to the cirumstances surrounding Yashji, I decided to wait a day out of respect. I'll do them later today hopefully.
