As Rishbala's chemistry and the storyline have developed, the latest track has marked a landmark in the unveiling of feelings at least to the viewers if not to the two apparently clueless individuals who are the very core, heart and soul of the story.😳
The couple's equation, always fraught, had become almost gentle even in confrontation, but the hospital track has brought out ever more plainly new facets in the relationship.
The look of almost ethereal encompassing tenderness in Madhu's gaze that has been seen a few times now while looking at her husband was - in the 17th Oct. ep - present yet again, bringing balance to the preceding scene staggering - despite being not even a little unexpected - in its implications.
Watching RK, wounded and not even fully cognisant, struggle to get up in spite of Madhu's desperate - and finally successful - efforts made one thing starkly clear.
For RK, his ego, pride and self-respect are interchangeable and inseparable.
No outside factors will ever truly be a lasting threat to the Rishbala relationship or equation.😳 Their junoon, prickly devotion and protectiveness for each other will surmount all such factors and situations gradually and eventually.
But if - rather when - a situation arises in which RK's ego, his self-worth, is threatened on Madhu's account, if he himself feels or perceives that others feel he is lesser than her or in any way dependent on her, it may be the cataclysmic point in this relationship.
And God forbid if there should be a situation in which he feels helpless, he may be willing to destroy himself rather than accept even assistance from her, perceiving it as alms to a beggar.
Madhu is gradually coming to understand just how much his ego is not arrogance as she had once so confidently derided, but rather an integral part of the defensive shield of his character.
It is ego that makes him almost obsessively independent for fear of being beholden to anyone.
It is ego that makes him turn away from his mother rather than make an effort doomed at the very outset to convince her of the character of the man she brought into their lives as a second father for Rishabh. Did the boy make such an effort? We may assume he did. But irregardless, childhood was marred a long time back, first by the traumatizing death of an adored father, and then by the disloyalty of a loving but weak and wilfully self-deluding mother.🤢
And it is ego that makes the man determined to portray himself as the villain rather than be known for any good, for good opinion even unsought is something he both yearns for and fears to yearn.
Even in those brief moments in the hospital-bed when he was too weak and injured and not even fully conscious or awake, his struggle to get up despite Madhu's desperate protective pleas and efforts showed a wild panic akin to someone drowning.
And with that as the reaction to look forward to when RK actually feels helpless to any extent, Madhu is going to truly need every iota of her formidable resolve and wordless unacknowledged primal commitment, to manage in far more subtle and varied situations of life what she managed in that hospital room - prevailing over RK to accept support he needs even if it is from her, in fact *especially* if it is from her.😳😃
RK may shield Madhu from every danger and threat, but as her raw anguish at his every hurt has repeatedly shown during his recovery, the greatest hurt *she* may face is *his* torment.
Nothing he did against her ever hit her as hard and deep and as easily as seeing him hurt, be it by a childhood nightmare or a physical pain.
Madhu holds her heart's tales in her eyes for any and all to read, and her husband is a particularly attuned reader.😕
She may never mask her emotions quite enough to mislead him for very long, but she will need to be more stubborn and more determined than she has ever yet been to induce this stubborn man to admit the place and the trust she already holds in his heart.😳
RK and Madhu may yet be briefly parted by other factors and other debts owed in relationship, but they must and will assuredly come together again, forged stronger by a parting that may be more furnace than sweet sorrow.😊
Rishbala - two people desperately proud and abrasively devoted, fiercely committed to each other and their relationship even without articulating the sheer immeasurable depth of that commitment, and terrifyingly vulnerable to the very relations that have only cherished them in agreement.
And like two halves of a jigsaw puzzle, only in coming together can RK and Madhubala - Rishabh and Madhu - make something whole out of the jagged edges, a formidable presentation out of fragile pieces.
