Actor Rani Mukherjee's brother Raja was arrested after a television actress said he had molested her after calling her to a meeting in which she was to narrate a script for a project.

Raja was arrested in suburban Versova on Sunday after the actress filed a complaint alleging that he had attempted to molest her in his car.

"The woman had gone to show Raja Mukherjee a script. He tried to molest her in the car," said ACP Narsingh Sherkhan was quoted as saying by CNN IBN.

Following the complaint, Raja was sent for a medical test and then taken into police custody. Lodged in Andheri jail since last night, he is expected to be produced in court today.
