How long should an ACTOR go as a LEAD HERO?!!!!!!!

😕 So, we talk about shelf life of actresses being so short. What about the heroes? I want to have the answer to this question once and for all. Men AGE to and when we see SRK doing loverboy roles right now, it is kind of ridiculous. People like Ranbir, Imran, or even actors in their 30's are best suited for the romancing type of roles. SRK is old enough to be playing their dad now! But SRK doesn't want to accept age gracefully and be in father roles. The same can be said for SALMAN, AAMIR, AKSHAY, etc. And HRITHIK is getting up there to. 😲 Why are we hyprocites with men and not women in Bollywood? How long should an ACTOR go as a LEAD HERO?! Please share your thoughts.

As long as he wants. Who are we to judge when they should quit? I agree though that I don't like seeing Shahrukh romance girls like Katrina, Anushka, Kareena, etc etc. Anushka is at least some what bearable. But Shahrukh has always worked better with his older heroines like Kajol, Rani, Madhuri, Karisma, Juhi, etc.

But I don't think we are anyone to judge when an actor should stop acting as a lead role. And especially not in Shahrukh's case considering the impact he has on Bollywood. Same applies to the other actors mentioned.

I can see all of them succeeding in lead roles provided that they take up good scripts. Now if they don't the case is different. You have to be wise enough to take the proper scripts.

Age is merely a number...And everyone is bound to age by the year. Everyone who is born into this world has a birthday!!! So let's face the reality that we all age...EVEN the actors. But why let age come in the way if you have talent?

All the actors mentioned above have the talent. Its just a matter of choosing the right scripts. They all still have potential being 40+.

The exact same can be said about most of the actresses 30+.

big B is still playing lead in movies despite being 70 so why cant the khans,kumar,roshan😆 although agree they should play lead hero in movies that suit their age not in romcoms with young chicks😵

Lol well I guess it depends on how they look with the heroine, if they look a lot older. Saif looked really odd in Cocktail because he looked a lot older than the girls...

As long as majority accepted them in films.

The other minority can pass their movies, its not like they are forcing to watch them. On the other hand, it's a fact of world cinema.

When Gorge, Tom, Arnorld or Brad act with younger heroines, people accept them. It happenes in bollywood, hollywood, kollywood , french and everyhwre in the world.

I think these kind of accusations are done by people who have limited access to world cinema.

On topic, SRK played a dad roles way more than other heroes in films. Even in recent Ra one and MNIK where he played middle aged man's role.

Then except in uneducated rural area based family, you cant find a dad of 47 whose having a 28 year old daughter..

I don't mind actors acting as leads til they're 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, or even 1000 - as long as they play appropriate roles that suit their age. Like, I didn't mind Baghban.. I liked seeing a movie based around older characters. But when I see actors in 40s/50s pretending to be 30, romancing 20-years old, I kinda get really irritated. But that trend has existed in Bollywood since decades.

I really, really, really wish the same for actresses as well. I wish movies were made around characters/actresses in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, etc as well. But nah, most writers of films get stuck in a world where the female lead must be in their 20s. 🤔
