Gauri started out as a positive character, went grey and then finally onto a high-strung drama queen overcome with insecurities.
Anandi keeps oscillating between being a strong woman standing up for everyone's rights to meekly accepting what's doled out to her - two steps forward, one step back. Maybe she is not clear about what she wants and hence does not stand up for herself.
Shiv was a no-nonsense man who would not suffer any fool and now he is silently letting others take the steering wheel in his life. Perhaps he is majboor because of his love for Anandi and his family.
Jagat was a reactive bigdaa hua shahzaada who thought working in an "unhygienic" government (I think) hospital was way beneath him and now he is perfectly at ease playing the even-tempered saviour in a small-town hospital. And that's just one 180-degree turn from him.
The only consistent characterization in BV are the villagers in Jaitsar. It takes one incident for them to proclaim someone a saint or sinner. Anandi is characterless! Let's make Anandi sarpanch! Punish Jagdish! We wuvvvs Dr. Jagya! Their memory retention powers are shorter than a goldfish.
In the Anandi-Shiv story, there is the Urmi Devi drama, CM's objections, DS melting, Saanchi's upcoming tantrum-ama and then the mega-whammy of Jagat He-Who-Will-Soon-Walk-On-Water Singh.
It's understandable that there needs to be some drama and only a love-story can get boring. But right now it's only illogical drama with some scraps of Anandi-Shiv daawat romance thrown in. There is no substantial story.
CVs should have at least given some time to developing the Anandi-Shiv love before bringing in the negativity. Their relationship is so fragile and is now beset with crap from all directions. Had the CVs spent some time in making the Anandi-Shiv romance solid, could have abided the negativity because would be convinced the couple is together and can fight all the demons together.
For now, would be great if CVs can show Shiv and Anandi stand up for themselves and each other and not tolerating anyone hurting the other even a little bit. Would also like CVs to show that these two are aware of stuff going on around them and then taking steps to counter it. Like the Heth Singh track where a smirking Shiv let the fella walk into the trap.
In particular, I would like Anandi to make up to Shiv not only for having to patiently tolerate Jagat but for:
- Her yelling at him for wanting to marry her.
- Her cold-shouldering him for trying to show sympathy post DS proposal.
- Her forced marriage proposal.
- Her long bout of sulkiness pre- and during sagaai.
For Gauri, I'd like to see her move on in life - she's better off without Jagat. There should be some resolution to her track.
