Sanaya: That was SO beautiful! Sanaya, it was nice that Anjali wasn't copied, but Khushi did it in her own way.

Chhote & His Di
The last few days have been more about Chhote than any other of Arnav's avatars.
And today, belonged to Chhote!
Courage to do Right
Arnav has spent the last 7 or 8 months knowing that his sister was being cheated by her husband. The sister who is a mother to him, the sister who is his world, for whom he has lived and become what he has - to see her cheated to the point of losing her deepest desire, her baby, is a nerve-wracking experience.
Yet, when it is time to disclose the lies of her cheating husband, Arnav cannot gather strength to take away his sister's smile, even though he knows her world is a lie.
Arnav became Arnav Singh Raizada to the world, an arrogant and ruthless business man, a hard taskmaster, a terror to his employees, a beast to his own love - through all this he remained for his sister, the boy she calls Chhote. No one dare mess with ASR, unless of course it is his Di. There is hardly anything he'd deny to his sister. She is his business partner - ASR works, but his sister holds 51% shares of his empire, while he is Chhote - he holds 49%. Anjali has been the largest shareholder of Arnav's life.
Arnav brings to Anjali his box where ke keeps the Rakhi his sister makes for him year by year. Who could know that a man like him would draw strength from a few beads stringed in a thread tied on his wrist by a woman who is herself weak? Perhaps, it can only be love - Arnav who is gearing up to tell his sister that her husband is a cheat, a fraud, and a murderer needs strength from that very sister's bond of love.
Arnav recalls the past Rakhi festivals when his sister entrusted him with the responsibility of her protecting her joys and her life. Arnav has done his best to uphold his sister's trust. Yet, this day he apologizes to his sister if he ever hurt her. Twice he attempts and twice his sister denies that she was ever hurt because of him. Arnav may feel relief knowing that his sister knows that he never meant his sister any harm, even if he'd ever hurt her. Even so, he still needs her affirmation.
Arnav seeks his sister's trust. He needs his sister to trust him, now more than ever - not for himself, but for her good, her joy, her life. He needs to know that his sister knows that if she is ever hurt because of him, she'd know that her Chhote never meant any harm; he only wanted good for her.

The D Day
How Arnav must have waited for this day! The day he frees his sister from the man who has hurt her the most.
Arnav sits right next to his sister, ready by her side. He sees the joy on her sister's face and the truth of what he is about to do seems to become more real to him. He knows what happens next will crash his sister's world. Arnav does not stop. It is for her life.
The moment Anjali sees the beginning of the play, he sees the happiness and joy on her face. He knows what is coming next. Khushi recites Anjali's desire for a child, Arnav's eyes never leave his sister's face. He knows they've touched her where it hurts most - an unfulfilled desire, a blessing that was given but snatched away, a yearning, a longing, a seemingly endless wait for a prayer to be answered.
And finally, when the changes the medicines, spreads the glass pieces on the mat - Arnav knows his sister is breaking within. His hand reaches out to hold her in his embrace; he holds her hand. Arnav goes through the trauma of seeing his sister step on the glass pieces - again. She has a weak leg, she was expecting her child - she was trapped. He sat through it.
Anjali demands that it be stopped, but Arnav holds her in place - he is there, right beside her. He needs Anjali to have the strength to see the truth so she can stop living the lie. Arnav does not leave her side, even if he would himself want the video stopped. He knows there is no other way to freedom for his sister. It was his decision the day he found about Shyam - 'Di, I'm sorry. I have to tell you this, no matter how much it hurts you!' Arnav knew back then it was the right thing to do, he knows it now.
He sits through seeing his sister getting electrocuted, falling down and losing her dream.
The moment arrives. Shyam refuses that he ever did anything and declares that Arnav got the video done to frame him.
Arnav accuses Shyam of attempt to murder. Shyam is too rattled to think straight and confesses - before he knows what he is doing. And then, Arnav only needs to stand and listen.
There was no other way to the truth - either Shyam confesses or else he remains without remedy.
It wasn't an easy journey through it all, and the worst is yet to come.

Traumatized...
... is probably a weak word for Anjali's situation right now.
From trying to figure out how Khushi knew about Shyam being the dhol-wala to beginning to see the missing links take shape - Anjali is being made to face the truth that she would never otherwise see. The fear is building up inside her as she senses what the story and the events are leading up to. The events that she never thought twice about before now are taking up a new meaning - something she could not have dreamed of.
How could Anjali have seen this coming? She sits through as image after image takes her through her best and worst memories - when she met the love of her life to when she lost her dreams. She sits through as image links to image to show her the ugly truth - her husband, the love of her life, the one she deems as god killed her baby.
She screams that it be stopped when she sees herself step on the glass pieces scattered by a hand that looks like her husband's. She sees the similarity, but it seems her heart defies it. Arnav holds her in place and pleads that she'd stay and see.
Finally, as she sees the short circuit and herself falling down - Anjali reaches up as though if it were possible, she'd save her child this time. Arnav races to Shyam and accuses him and this time, Anjali does nothing to stop Arnav. She's still in state where her heart and her mind are in conflict.
But then, Shyam confesses. The medicine was only for miscarriage, not murder, and finally the lights come on. The gloom of darkness ends. Shyam is seen clearly by everyone - especially Anjali.
There was no other way for Anjali to see this - except if Shyam spoke it himself.
And there she stands shattered as one after the other, Shyam's confessions line up and he shows his true face.
Can she believe this is the man she fell in love with, married and hoped to have a family with? This is the man she trusted and fought for with all her family?
Anjali has her family but there are some things she may have to face on her own.
Anjali ... there is more to come though it is clear to Anjali now that there is no explanation that can justify the confession.
The Confession
For the past couple of days, it has seemed that he was facing his deeds. Not for a minute he could have thought that someone could break into his plan.
From the moment Arnav and Khushi found about the cameras, something had worked against Shyam without his knowing. Right under the cameras, he got tricked. Arnav ordered whitewash, and Shyam had to remove his cameras. His web, his roots that he had spread throughout the house, right into the lives of the people - he took those out and back with his own hands.
Shyam wasn't very easy with the thought of seeing a drama that would shake him. Yet, the initial scenes put him at ease. It looked harmless, of course till the time the baby crib showed itself on the screen. After it was a nightmare come true for Shyam - and a nightmare he'd probably never seen.
Shyam was too rattled with all that was happening with him for the past few days. He's been wondering if he is alright. His mind is not working at its normal state - which is weird.
Arnav accuses Shyam of attempting to kill Anjali - Shyam accepts by mistake. In normal circumstances, Shyam might have seen through this trick. Right now, Shyam is too rattled. He speaks before he thinks - and for once he's sorry that he did.
And, then the true Shyam shows up - the mad man, the psycho, the insane Shyam. Shyam is free to be who he is now. I s'pose he reckons - well, you called this upon yourself, so here am i!
Shyam then launches into a confession spree. He relates his plans and his deeds, relishing them, proud of his own ingenuity, showing his maddened delight at how brilliantly destructive his ideas were - 'Ek cchota sa short circuit, aur dhamm se giri Rani Sahiba!' - mad, psychotic, insane.
He is proud to admit that he brought Dadi Ji from the ashram to gain entry into RM, but when she failed he used his own unborn child and killed it.
This seems to be just the beginning of his confessions. It would be interesting to show how far Shyam goes down the confessions aisle.
During the NK-Mami Jaan sequence, the final confession freed Khushi of her name Phati Sari. I wonder if Shyam goes down far enough to state that it was never Khushi who trapped him, but he who wanted to marry Khushi even though he was married.
It would be interesting to see if he is mad enough to say it all.
Khushi
Who else could have done this for Arnav?
Arnav may have handed Shyam to the police, who might have gotten right back, and in the process Arnav might have angered and lost his sister. Khushi was right in pointing out that Anjali's blind faith in Shyam needs to be dealt with.
It was small tricks that caught Shyam off-guard. She took the courage to play it out on stage what Shyam had done. Arnav supported her, but still - this needed the courage of a tigress.
Khushi has left behind her own reason for revenge against Shyam - for which she is much justified. She has taken up the battle weapons for Arnav instead, making his battle her own. She is fighting for him. She is supporting him. She is holding up his love and devotion for his sister. She is ensuring that Anjali is freed but without a rift between Arnav and his sister.
Khushi is not only attempting to oust Shyam - she attempting to free, strengthen, and stand by Anjali.
It was endearing that the moment Arnav went after Shyam, Khushi ran down from the platform to stand by Anjali. She is true to her mission - the goal is not just ensuring Shyam gets his due, but that Anjali is not left alone.
Khushi is so Khushi in this sequence - the dedicated follower of what is right, the fiercely loyal wife, the devoted sister, and of course, the tigress!
Others
1. Nani ji and Mami Jaan were shell-shocked to see the portrayal.
They went through the pain of Anjali's accident again as they see her step on the glass pieces and then fall down.
Nani ji refuses pointblank that Arnav may have created those tapes.
Yet they are in no condition to take it all in - it is shocking to them.
2. LOVED to see Akash keeping an eye on the creep, and not letting him run off.
Good work Akash! Pat your back, please!
3. LOVED NK - try as he might, he cannot look creepy.
Precap
Finally Anjali slaps Shyam.
I'm keen to say what he was attempting when she slapped him - was it a i-just-woke-up-from-my-nap attempt to apology?
While everyone was shocked to see Anjali slap Shyam - LOVED that Akash smiled wide!
That satisfied smile Akash - bitwa tumhaare saare paap dhul gaye uske baad!
I SO wish Anjali rips that portrait of her and Shyam from her room and flings it downstairs - or maybe on Shyam's head!
Note:
My assignment isn't over as yet. I just took a break today for this episode. I may be irregular for some time.
