nah nah nah 5/5? yes the promos are nice but the dialogues are sooo...
inane.
"why india not The India? why United statesof America THE United states of
America?
"how do you manage to live in our country (USA) without knowing the language?
"how do YOU manage to live in our country (India) without knowing the language?
I hope those dialogues werent the best in the movie. because they suck big time.
Sri is looking fab on both looks as well as acting and dancing. even tho there are
parts where she is looking her real age. and then she goes to looking young.
I will be catching this movie even if its just to watch Majhi Navrai.
same as i will be catching Ranis Aaiyya just to watch her groove to all those
mad numbers. these two ladies are teaching our new heroines what 'dancing'
actually is.

My mom...a HUGEEE fan of Sridevi since her first film. Infact, she tells me till date that she doesn't like Madhuri all that much because she (Madhuri) took "her Sridevi's" number 1 position in BW. 😆 She's even made me watch all Sridevi movies with her (especially the ones with Jeetandra).

Since the past two years or so I've been literally dragging my mom (and other family members) to the theater to watch almost every other BW movie but THIS time around, she's dragging ME to watch English Vinglish. Gosh, I don't remember the last time she was this excited for a BW movie. It's kinda cute to see her all excited to watch Sridevi's movie again lol.

So, I'm looking forward to watch this movie on Friday and see what's it all about. The reviews are very impressive, no doubt.

After Kahaani, its Vidya
After Barfi, its not Vidya, its PC
After Heroine, its not Vidya, PC, its Kareena
After English Vinglish, its not Kareena,PC,Vidya, its Sridevi
After Aiyyaa, its not Kareena, PC, Vidya, Sridevi, its Rani.

😆😆

With each film every actress is showing their prowess. Its too difficult to judge now as it is the current performance which remains in the mind most. Let all the movies release in this year, then we'll be able to judge who was better.

And of course she is miles ahead of all the actresses of today put together including Kareena, priyanka and vidya.

Any actress from that era is better than today's generation, caz not only they can act but also dance and show emotions.

Good luck to her, hope the movie does well.

hv to disagree here. i think no one except vidya could hv done Kahaani the way
she did it. tho im sure she could easily do an English vinglish AND bring her
own brand of charm to the role. She really is a charming lady in person.
And Im sure i wouldnt have wanted Sridevi in her young days doing Jhil Mil.
Maybe parineeti.or Juhi chawla.
And i dont think actresses of that era were necessarily better than actresses
of this one. Anushka, Parineeti, Vidya, Priyanka are miles better in acting than
Hema or Parveen or Zeenat and as good as were Juhi Madhuri Rekha Sridevi.
Neetu was really good even tho she wasnt numberone.
Katrina PC Anoushka GauharChitrangadha are also as good dancers as them.
Yes Sridevi and Madhuri are all rounders theyre good in dancing as well as emoting.
And madhuri was really good looking too.
we dont hv one heroine at present who is all these three things. Except for
Madhuri none were like that then either.

i am sorry, i love, love vidya, BUT many actresses could have pulled kahaani easily. especially pc and kareena, no doubt. hell, why not konkena, here is another actress who can easily slip in these kinda roles.

as for sridevi doing jhillmil, go and watch sadma, she could have done a BETTER JOB than pc.
that i don't doubt.

i respect your point of view briahna
but in my opinion, no other actress could hv done or looked the quietly
fierce bengali lady and emoted so much with her eyes alone as vidya
did in Kahaani. Yes, I think Chitrangadha would have done an impressive
job too. these are smouldering actresses. not exactly chulbuli. Kareena
would hve overacted and spoilt the whole feel of the movie and in no
way could she hv looked bengali.
i thnk Sridevi was cast ideally for English Vinglish because she has
this impish charm even in real life, (which i had no idea of until i
saw her on Kaun Banga Crorepati promo with Amit. she is like
an extension of her English Vinglish role in that episode, lol!)
but no i would much rather sit thru a vidya or parineeti movie than
sris. ive seen chaalbaaz, mr india, parts of himmatwala, tohfa,
ve never seen so much glycerine flowing as in Tohfa, lol.
Ive seen Sadma with kamalhasan. shes good in it. but i think PC
suited that particular Jhil mil better. PC s petit frame and oval face
gave her a vulnerability which most other actresses might hv had
to work harder to achieve.

Damn, i forgot Konkona. She would also have KILLED the Kahaani role. Dont know
why i didnt think of her. maybe coz she was out of sight for so long. this is why
actresses should not completely shun the media or public eye; one tends to forget
theyre there with all the new talent coming in.
they should do the odd interview or photo shoot once a month at least, to remind
public and producers theyre there.
