Hi Friends,
DM is known as a section full of hot burning debates with lots of fun debating with enthusiastic members. To make DM more informative place for our grey cells to hang out and have fun, I have a few suggestions:
1. Introduction of "Researcher of the week". This title will go to that debater who showed quality research in their arguments using and stating different sources i.e. who did most research work on facts in one week on general DM debating topics. This will promote members to do more research work on general debates.
2. The "Did you know" sticky thread for a week. This thread would be a great source of learning different things and it would be a total members input. Every week there will be a new thread with members contributing constructively. Members may put some facts on archaeology, history, science, chemistry, inventors, etc. e.g. "The guinea pig is not from guinea and neither a pig." The number of posts will be specified by Dev team to control spamming.
3. I propose a contest for the title of "Mr./Miss History". The title will be awarded to the person who would have a responsibility of regularly providing Debatable information on History at DM. "Mr./Miss History" is expected to present his/her posts with a brief information along with a debatable subject on History events exclusively. The criteria for contest would be :
(i) Presentation of Information briefly and concisely so that a person in DM not involved in History subject can have information as well as can debate on it too.
(ii) Choosing a debatable piece of information.
(iii) Emphasizing more on the debate aspect of the information.
Those members willing to participate in the contest will be given the opportunity to write a post for DM for their related area. Posts from different participants will be posted on DM by Dev team members. The participants will remain anonymous for the intention of fair voting. The "Mr/Miss History" title will be given on public voting. (Further details of contest will be announced when materialized). Later we can have other areas covered in the contest e.g. Mr./Miss IT, Mr/Miss English literature, Mr/Miss Archaeology, Physics, Economics, etc.
Cheers.
MNMS.
