Switch on to any FM station or music channels on television, the soulful title track from director Karan Johar's recently released Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, which is crooned by Sonu Nigam, is playing frequently. Johar, who cannot think of any other name except Shah Rukh Khan for lead roles in his films, invariably wants Sonu to sing title-tracks. From Kabhi Khushi Khabie Gham to Kal Ho Naa Ho to Kabhi Alvida... all the title tracks were recorded in Sonu's voice and all of them were chartbuster. "I always choose Sonu for all my projects because he has the best voice in the industry today," said Johar. Critics feel Sonu possesses special skill to get into listeners' soul with his voice and Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy, music directors of Kabhi Alvida..., echo this sentiment. "For us I think Sonu is the best singer in the industry and the way he has delivered the title song and Tumhi dekho naa, it shows his sincerity. He is a wonderful singer and none of our project is complete without him."

No doubt. Can you imagine anybody else singing 'Ai Chaand Teri', 'Kismat Se Tum' (Pukar), 'Hamein Tumse' (Yaad), 'Suraj Hua Maddham'? Who else other than Sonu can put so much feel and emotion to the songs?

eww yeah if anyone else had sang those i dont think i would classify them as songs anymore ...omg have u heard Tujh Sang Bandhi Dor from Dev...its one of my favorite sonu songs..but it never became known or popular becuase its extremely different and was never picturised in the movie

Oh yeah, 'Tujh Sang Bandhi Dor' is one of my favorites as well. How about 'Mera Rang De Basanti Chhola'? I can go on and on if I start listing my favorite Sonu songs 😊.

ahhh i love that song too!!! and sonu said it was one of his favs too at the concert..he sang it at the very beginning and i loved the way how he speeded it up!😊 were u able to ..or are u gonna go to his concert? omg yeah i could go on forever too listing my fav songs...if i had to pick one i dont think i would be able to😛

KJ is right. Sonu Nigam has sung many many chartbuster hits for SRK: Satrangi Re, Suraj Hua Maddham, Kal Ho Na Ho, Dheere Jalna, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. I know Sonu is cutting back on work now, but hopefully he'll continue singing for SRK's future films.
