Commitment is very important , the rituals u can have but the same rituals does not stop u from filing for divorce in a court...
As i said..Ur commitment towards matters one anothr matters a lot..
If the ritualistic marriage was the true binder.. why are there divorces, extra marital affairs , Adultery ...

Unless, Trust, faith commitment, acceptance is not there , It never really is a true marriage ... what u have is a license , a legal license to sleep around and satisfy ur animal urges ...Nothing more...
I am not saying Marriage is unimportant but do not put rituals on a high pedestal ..cos rituals can turn out to be empty, shallow when it is not followed by faithfulness, acceptance , determination...

My take on the concept of sex before marriage is each to his/her own (personally I don't believe in this because of religious reasons), and in this case I think that its inherent in the female-lead's character that she doesn't believe in sex before marriage, and if that's what they showed in yesterdays episode then I am disappointed in the writer, I would like to think that I understand the character from inception and no where in her make-up would she do this, if that was the case then she would have done so before, it doesn't matter if his mother accepts her or not it ultimately is a matter of social norms of the middle class mentality where she grew up, and God. So I hope that was just second base and not full on sex.
