It makes me remember the story The window/The Man by the window 😊 Not sure anybody had read that before!

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

They both talked for hours on end. They spoke about everything and anything. Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live, for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

Days and weeks passed and this guy away from the window started living his life waiting for those few hours and was dreaming about the things happened that day.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside.

Finally, he was ready to have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall!

Our Mohan is cooking up a story for Megha to boost her confidence! Hope it works in favor of her! 😊

Nice story Senpoo... I didn't read it before... but that scene was brilliantly written & shot. It reminded me of the story The Last leaf by O. Henry.

@Senpoo: Yes... it's very touchy story... I read this story when I was in school... & cried after reading it. 😆 Anyway O henry's all stories end on a sad note but they are classics...They always give you hope to fight against all odds.

Yes Senpoo, i hope that Mohan gets Megha up and moving soon with the help of bunty...

It was a beautiful use of metaphor and made me believe that after rondi's exit, even the dialogue writer and writing in general is improving too.

Thanks for sharing this story, beautiful one

Exactly!! I too remembered 'The Last Leaf' when I watched 'Bunty' scene! That story is a classic! This scene too was brilliant! Felt like old NBT is back!

Besides 'The Last Leaf', 'Gift of Maggie' and 'After Twenty Years' are my O. Henry favourites. His own life is like a story too!

I feel like though Megha didnot believe Mohan's Bunty at first, she started believing when He told abt Bunty to NA, thats why she turned towards the window...
