KUDIYAAN BEMISAAL
…a celebration of womanhood…
Women have made inroads into every hitherto sacrosanct male domain. But when it comes to television the glamour league seem to have simply invaded as beti, behen, biwi, bahu, saas…in women-oriented serials that have taken viewers by storm.
The 'Kudiyaan Bemisaal' concert organised by Miditech Pvt. Ltd. and held at Jamshed Bhabha Auditorium, NCPA, Mumbai saw over thirty artistes from Indian films & television from leading ladies Pallavi Kulkarni, Neha Bamb, Deepa Parab, Saumya Tandon, Ashka Goradia, Arzoo Govitrikar, Shama Sikandar and Urvashi Dholakia to the golden divas Aroona Irani and Himani Shivpuri enthrall the audience with their power- packed performances.
The highlight of the evening was the theme song composed by music director Anu Malik and rendered by popular singer Alka Yagnik. The show opened with a splendidly choreographed sequence based on the hit numbers from Subhash Ghai's Taal by the leading ladies of Sony Entertainment Television … Pallavi Kulkarni, Neha Bamb, Deepa Parab and Saumya Tandon.
In a special segment, singing beauty Vasundhara Das gave a live performance which included the latest hits numbers from Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. In another segment dedicated to the power of women, Arzoo Govitrikar and Urvashi Dholakia had the audience asking for more as they performed spirited numbers like Dhoom Machale to the delight of all.…
Down memory lane was a segment dedicated to the golden girls of yesteryear Madhubala, Asha Parekh, Mumtaz and Zeenat Aman. Mona Singh and Shama Sikandar revived the spirit of popular hit songs of yore like Hoton pe aisi baat, Aaja aaja and Laila main Laila… The evening however did not belong to the youth brigade alone…the ever graceful & charming Aroona Irani and Himani Shivpuri sashayed to yesteryear's golden hits like Mud mud ke na dekh, Taklina and Cha Cha Cha.
It wasn't entirely a ladies day out. The men made their presence felt too. Maanav Gohil, Gagan Arya and Sachin Sharma brought down the house with their thunderous performance of hit songs of 36 China Town. Popular lead pairs presented romantic duets in the segment Magical Moments. Ravi and Naaved presented the finalists of Boogie Woogie Kids Championship who performed live for the first time in a special segment dedicated to the Girl Child. The show stopper of the evening was the fashion show which had all the performing artistes walking the ramp showcasing the fashion ensemble presented by Deepika Gehani.
