Part 32

"Akaash? Wait let me call him" Arnav spoke urgently
"No use.. I already tried calling him.. his mobile is with Jiji.. he left it in a hurry"
Arnav decided to reach the hospital in another car. But Kushi opposed him
"You have just recovered... You cant strain and drive a car.. No!"
"Kushi, Understand... I need to go and check..."
"We wil call the police.."
"Are you kidding Kushi, we dont even know if this is true...He works with a gang..."
"OK..wait I will call Nanheji"

Atlast, they brought NK into their confidence. NK drove the car, and Kushi accompanied them as she was not ready to leave Arnav go alone.
soon after they picked speed, NK realised that the car brakes had been tampered. He let Arnav know about it and soon they smelt petrol.
"I think the car fuel is leaking too" NK exclaimed.
"yeah I too can smell Petrol" Kushi told them scared.
"The car has been sabotaged. No prize for guessing who did it!" Arnav supposedly whispered.

Arnav directed NK to slow down and not to accelerate further, but the speed was not reducing at all. Then he asked him to steer away from the busy road into a less taken lonely road. As they were losing fuel fast, they hoped the vehicle would stop soon, but the road happened to be piled with heaps of building materials.NK finally lost control of the car as he tried hard to steer it away from hitting a group of workers at the construction site, probably returning home and the car hit a heap of sand, and flew across it. Arnav helped NK and both tried to steer it away from danger and the car screeched to stop after hitting large building blocks of rocks piled there.

All the three escaped with only little sratches on their body but soon the group of workers they crossed little early had gathered around- they seemed to be drunk after the day's work and the angry mob tried to attack the driver of the expensive car who they thought had tried to kill them, Kushi's sweet talks and explanation didnt help much and finally Arnav's money did the trick. The three couldnt take the car from there as it failed to start after the impact, Also it was no use taking the sabatoged vehicle now.

NK wanted Arnav and kushi to reach home as Arnav's legs had started bleeding again. But Arnav would'nt listen and wanted to reach hospital as fast as they could. At that point, Arnav's mobile started to ring. Relief spread in Arnav's face as he heard Akaash's voice from the other end.

"Bhai, Ashok is ok and I shall drop him at his place before I come home."

"Oh Alright.." Arnav sighed "Akaash, But why his place?there isno one there... he can stay at Shantivan for the night..."

" No bhai... I already told him. but he is adamant... He says he has got some work at his place."

"No Akaash tell him that I insisted. We have got some threats again.. seems to be Shyam's work"

"Oh...Alright...I shall bring him over then..i have to finish off the discharge formalities then I will start"

"Yeah.. you take care yourself and be alert"

"ok bhai.. see you soon"

The situation seemed to calm down a bit, the three breathed reassured. Kushi's mobile beeped then.

"A message" Kushi informed them and looked into it while Arnav looked over anxiously.
"Nanheji, get a taxi quick.. we need to reach home" Kushi shouted in panic

"What happened?" Arnav askedtaking the mobile from her

"How was the road adventure Kushi? oh by the way, I changed my plan about attacking Akaash or Ashok.Thought of a small revenge for my ex wife... none of her brothers are around you see...how about blowing her up... I can hear something ticking away in her room... your decision has the control to stop it"

"No!" Arnav shouted. His mind seemed blank for a moment. By that time, NK had managed

to Flag down an auto and they rushed towards Shantivan. Arnav regained his self control then, called the house to check if there are any unusual beeping sound at home. He also called one of his police friends and arranged for the whole house to be checked.

By the time they reached home, his friend had got in people and dogs from bomb squad and had completed the checks.

"Its a false alarm Mr.Raizada" The officer from the squad informed him before leaving with his squad.

After a brief talk to the police friend, he also left after expressing disappointment that he hadnt come to him before itself.

Arnav intended to go up but the bewildered family wanted more explanations. NK started to explain... but at the same time, the stress had taken a toll on Arnav's health and he started feeling dizzy suddenly. It happened quickly and he sat down before losing consicious completely.

A worried family surrounded him when Arnav gained his concious back. He saw a tear striken Anjali by his bed side and a worried grim faced Kushi who he noticed had her hands tightly holding his own hand, looking down his face.

"Arnavji!"

"Nannav"
"chotey"
"Arnav bitwa"
everyone seemed to speak at the same time.

"Nothing to worry, it was just the stress, the sugar level dropped and the so his BP dropped down quickly.Also the wounds have opened again...it takes time for a diabetic person to heal...do not stress physically as well as emotionally Mr.Raizada.. and Mrs. Raizada, see to that he takes his medicines regularly." The Doctor who seemed to have been called immediately after he lost conscious and had been attending to him, spoke.

Kushi nodded, not taking her eyes of her husband.

"Let him rest, He will be alright, I shall take leave" the doctor told the family and left.
The family slowly started moving out after getting assured that their son was safe.

Kushi never moved away, nor did she take away her eyes from his face.
The stress has been too much for him, He had always been the one to get the burnt of it and one of his deepest fear was the safety of the family. An attack on the family his loved ones had taken a toll on his stress level and he had neglected his medicines again. She had been too involved in these threats to notice. She should'nt have let him take on a ride before he recovered.

"I am alright Kushi" Arnav spoke out in a hoarse voice

then it struck her, Shyam's plan had been this...He had been hitting them when it matters, the mere thought of attack on the safety of the family, has stressed him so much... Kushi thought of those few minutes before he gained conscious, when the doctor himself had feared that the BP had dropped so low and the pulse was dropping too, NK had called the ambulance and Kushi rushed to him and had clutched his hand tightly, praying to DM not to take him away and his BP started raising back.

"I know" She whispered. "Now close your eyes and Sleep" She instructed and he obeyed her.
