Mother brought us together: Karanvir Bohra and TJ

While faith draws lakhs of devotees every year to the ongoing Mount Mary fair in Bandra, the church is special for TV actor couple Karanvir Bohra and Teejay Sidhu. For it was here that the couple had first met and then got engaged a year later. "We think there's a strange spiritual connect we have with the place, with each other," says the couple.

Recalling their first meeting, Karanvir says that he had met Teejay in the church through a common friend,model Anupama Chopra. "Teejay had accompanied Anupama and when she had to leave, I told her that I would drop Teejay. But we ended up chatting for hours on the steps," shares Karanvir.

A chance meeting later, they finally exchanged numbers. "Incidentally, we bumped into each other in the vicinity of the church again," adds Karanvir. Though both of them belong to different faiths, they both believe in spirituality more than religion.

Karanvir reveals that in their second meeting itself he had made up his mind that she is the one for him. "Since we had met at the church and it is where we both go often, I decided to propose to her there. So, exactly a year after having met the first time, I decided to surprise Teejay. I had all our friends waiting at the church and I just drove Teejay there without her knowing any of it. And I proposed to her on the steps, and the moment she said a yes, all our friends came forth and we got engaged there and then.

Helen aunty, who is Teejay's godmother blessed us, and the fact that it was happening with the blessing of the Mother Mary made it all the more special. We have always felt blessed as a couple," adds the actor, who tied the knot in less than six months later. Till date, the couple try and visit the church to light a candle together. "We have always felt that we were meant to be together, and we have the Mother's blessings," they say.
