She saw Jeevika lying in the OT room but she still innocently believed that Jeevika won't go through with it, she really thought Jeevika would back off. Even my Dad thought Manvi will find another donor to be save her at the last minute.

But when the Doctor said 'it's done Mrs. Vadhera', my mum was shocked that Jeevika actually went through with it. She was like how could she go ahead with the abortion. So I reasoned with her and said Jeevika had no choice! Manvi doesn't have much time left but call it backward thinking, she couldn't accept it. Which makes me wonder if the TRP viewers would accept it...Hmm. ABORTION has not been shown like this ever, of course it's going to be a shocker!!,
Nevertheless, brilliant episode! If a sensitive issue like abortion is to be executed then it should be handled like this. Emotions and acting were bang on! I was living every moment and I'm really curious to see how the story moves on from here. Potential is great!! Apart from KD and KT's acting, I would like to give credit to the creatives for penning something very believable. Time and time again this show has proved that when it comes to emotions, no other show can beat this one!

👍🏼 M in daze...
One of the MOST powerful episodes... KD's numbed expressions made me numb... the way she carried J's chracter today, Soul stirring Performance :)
Viren's breakdown scene was too heart wrenching :)

Full justice to the track by KD KT...

Agree awesome episode. Loved KD and the emotions of Jeevika.
I discussed this abortion topic with my mom, too. But she doesn't share the same opinion like your mom. She sees Jeevika as the mother of Manvi.
Every mom would be ready to lose and risk everything to save their baby which is in danger NOW. She would abort a new life to save the life of her first child.

I agree it is a difficult decision to make and I respect every mom who has gone through anything like this.

What I love about the CV's of EHMMBH is that they deal with real life issues like abortion, cancer etc.

Reemz it was an awesome episode. Maybe your mother thought she would back out once realising the gravity of what she was doing. And maybe the TRP audience will take time to understand but watching Krystle and Karan. I don't think anyone could not connect with them. The way they have portrayed their loss has been beyond prefect and that I think people will connect to even if they don't agree with the decision.

Personally I didn't even bother watching the episode after reading the update but as my mum was watching, she told me that it was predictable that J would abort her child. So I'm assuming that there are already viewers who can predict what will happen.
I'm kind off sick n tired of watching this behnas tyaag n sacrifice this whole courtroom drama was not needed n now they are gonna drag this abortion track
I'm glad that u all are enjoying the episodes, I wish that CVs listened to us sometimes so we could peacefully watch the episodes. But they don't seem to care 🤢

**RES***

** EDITED**

Reema, interesting how you mentioned about your mom in your post today because I watched the show with my Mom too today and was going to share my experience till I saw your post! So I was like perfect, I can just comment underneath rather than making a separate thread!

So I usually watch the show on my laptop but today I happen to be on time for TV telecast so I was watching it and my mom was sitting beside me who has never seen this show but was intrigued by the episode from its very first scene! Initially she thought that Jeevika had a miscarriage till the nurse mentioned the job being done! During the break, I gave her brief synopsis as to what led to Jeevika's decision of aborting her child. She watched the entire episode & said "I can somehow connect to this"!

(Paraphrase of our little conversation followed after the show):

My mom was pregnant with twins ( me and another baby boy) but being a premature babies, my other twin brother didn't make it, 12 hrs after the birth he passed away. My dad being away at that time (work purposes) travelled 3 days upon hearing the news and mom told me that it was probably the first time she had seen my dad break down like anything! So, in context to the show, she said she can connect to Jeevika's pain- no matter how she lost her child (natural death, deliberate move one like Abortion)- ultimately it is still a loss of a child. Mom said I had some reassurance with you (me) being there but Jeevika doesn't even have that- Yes, Manvi is her first child but again that feeling of having a child after nourishing it for 8 months in your womb and then going through the labour pain is something else on its own! At that point my brother walked in and said Jeevika chose to make this move (I just wanted to punch him right there and then- Geez Guys!) but my Mom said that no doubt, but her pain and loss is nothing less than any other mother out there who lost her child for various reasons! She said Her pain started the minute she decided to go for an abortion- one shivers at the thought of doing such act whereas she placed her other child's happiness over the unborn one and stood by it! Saying something is one thing but executing is another, and she stood firm by her decision till the very last minute! And seeing Viren breaking down, mom instantly recalled my dad breaking down in the hospital years ago. She found it absolutely real and definitely something one can connect to! She didn't cry as I did but her choked voice during our conversation did express her emotions!

My Take:

Just Within the first 5 seconds, I could feel my eyes being teary and honestly as much as I tried to hold them in, I gave up; tears rolled down as the scenes progressed! Such a powerful impact and massive applause to KD for enacting this particular scene because she LIVED every moment of this scene to put it across as utmost reality! Concept of abortion in TV is not new, I have seen many other shows where abortion tracks have been introduced for the most pathetic reasons (girl is career oriented thus does not want to enter motherhood, an outgoing, rich spoiled girl gets pregnant before marriage and aborts child to hide the news from her husband, sex-determination test to abort the girl child) BUT when this show projects something similar that serves a bigger purpose and with a valid reason, it becomes a matter of promoting indecent act, a talk of the town of something that apparently does not happen in our society?!

Like I mentioned in other thread, ABORTION is taking place in people's homes and their backyards yet when same thing is projected at a higher scale, it becomes harder for them accept the truth as if their society is nothing but Pure! For those speaking about reality can accept the above mentioned scenarios but not this? Why? Why so much hype for this particular track- because for ONCE someone is showing something that believable and logical!!!! How many cases are out there of similar situation of abortion where one is aborting to save one's life- very rare! I am not promoting abortion BUT why such a varied reaction from audiences on this issue?!!

We cannot handle too much reality on shows because we fail to accept our society's flaws and ill practices and claim that our society is anything but that AND at the same time we cannot accept something that is OTT, fictitious yet positive (sisters show being a prime example), because it is not REALITY; it is not practical and does not sync with our society's rules and norms- A sister (especially one that is married) cannot abort her child to save her other sister, a girl's in-laws can never accept their daughter-in-law being so attached and loyal to her family after marriage, husband like Viren does not exist, etc etc! Well Why NOT? Why can't we be accepting and create society that has a sister like Jeevika and Manvi, a husband like Viren?! Sometimes or many times actually, fictitious idea results from a desire- a desire to have a perfect world, relations like that of sisters or husband wife in this show!!!! Basic problem: TOO REAL= DENY! UNREAL= REJECT!!!!

I honestly don't know what I wrote and completely went off topic (Sorry Reema!) Mentioned similar things in other thread of yours (Why sisters are mocked) but went little more crazy in this post of mine! Its not a usual me to go off and vent like this but today is an exception! I hope it all makes sense though!!!

Brilliant take on it!! It was brilliantly potrayed and put, I wasn't in favor of the track because of the theme of abortion but the way it was executed surprised me, it was done realistically and portayed full of emotion that you realise how abortion and sacrifice with such a hard decision of life and death can take place.
