If we analyze the female characters in this show, it is always expressed that women are only considered good people if they sacrifice everything in their life. They should swallow all their pain, always give to others, can't be selfish, should hide everybody else's mistakes no matter how big their mistakes are and should be really really mahaan. If they are not, they are stupid, selfish and bad.
Honestly speaking, Ovi probably loves Arjun more then Purvi because she has been loving him for a really long time. Ever since her hormones started taking action, she wasn't attracted to anybody else but Arjun and all of a sudden everything has changed. It would hurt her A LOT. I don't blame her.
Just because Ovi is grieving for Arjun doesn't make her a bad person but no body seems to care about her. Archana goes to mandir prays for Purvi and not Ovi. It is COMPLETELY unnecessary for Manav to go for the Kanyadaan. He has another daughter who has bigger problems.
If a mother in real life just gave her baby away to her husband to take across the world, people would assume that she is a bad mother.
Wikipedia put her as an antagonist and I COMPLETELY disagree!
