3rd september flash back of Arnav got me thinking and I realised why Anji is so blind to Shyam's vile act.
What came out of the fb was that Arnav and Anjali's mother may have misunderstood her husband, and been hasty in her judgement. Her suicide led to his guilt and he followed her.
While it shows both parents in poor light, they had children to think of, let us not judge them till we know the whole truth, but that is not what I am writing about.
Let us look at it from Anji's POV.
She was much older than Arnav and probably much closer to her mom - Arnav may have idolised his ma, but Anji knew more about what was going on.
She saw what her mother's mistrust did to the family.
She saw that if only her mother had given her dad another chance, none of this would have happened.
While Arnav saw his dad's deceit , Anji saw lack of trust as the root cause.
What Arnav took away from all this : don't get married if cant spend your life together
So he concluded that marriage was not for him
Anji concluded, don't mistrust your partner, always give him the benefit of doubt, she concluded she will always trust her husband
Arnav concluded when one partner cheats the other, death and destruction follow.
Anji concluded when one partner doesnt believe in the other, death and destruction follow.
Does Shyam know more about raizadas secret than what Anji has told him? Maybe, maybe not.
But he knows enough to realise that Anji's past has moulded her in a way that she will always give him another chance - because her mother never gave her dad another chance, and this is her takeaway from the tragedy.
This why Shyam did not have to do much to convince her of his innocence. This is why he could walk back into her life so easily.
For in her eyes, she is not cheating her Chote, she is simply trusting her husband.
Her experience tells her that if you don't do that, death and destruction follow.
Which is why CVS chose to show the loss of the baby, because only when he hurts in a way that is so horrific that it is unforgiveable, that is worse than any other hurt he could cause to her physically or emotionally, only then would Anji wake up to his treachery, every other crime this evil man will be able to sweet talk his way out of.
